Actor Michael Easton has announced his departure from the ABC soap opera 'General Hospital' after 10 years, expressing his gratitude to the cast and crew in an emotional farewell video.

AceShowbiz - Michael Easton is stepping down from his role on the beloved ABC soap opera "General Hospital" after ten remarkable years. In a heartfelt Instagram video posted on June 26, the 57-year-old actor announced his departure.

Easton, who has played multiple characters across over 900 episodes of "General Hospital," shared that he had just wrapped his final scenes on the show. "I've always been partial to the Irish goodbye," he said, referring to the tradition of leaving a gathering without a formal goodbye. "But I thought you all deserved better, so I just wanted to let you know I just filmed my final scenes here at 'General Hospital.' "

Easton first joined "General Hospital" in 2012, bringing his "One Life to Live" character, Detective John McBain, into the fold during a crossover episode. Over the years, he transitioned into other memorable roles, including Dr. Silas Clay and Dr. Hamilton Finn, the latter of which won him a Daytime Emmy Award nomination in 2018.

In his emotional video, Easton conveyed his gratitude to the show's cast and crew. "I've loved every minute that I've been here," he said before thanking them "for allowing me to share their stage this past 10 years."

Making an even deeper connection with his audience, Easton expressed his heartfelt thanks to the fans, stating, "Most importantly, I want to thank all of you for the kindness and love you've shown me and my family. I will never forget you."

Though Easton's departure marks the end of an era, fans have something to look forward to with the return of Jonathan Jackson as Lucky Spencer, a role he first took on in 1993. Jackson, who left the show nearly a decade ago, announced his return the day after Easton's own message to his followers.

Excited about his upcoming storyline, Jackson shared on Instagram that he "can't wait to dig in and see what's going on in Port Charles," while expressing his gratitude to fans for their persistent support and affection.

As Easton exits and Jackson returns, "General Hospital" continues to be an ever-evolving tapestry, reflecting the intricate and enduring relationship between its characters and its viewers.
