The stars of the hit series 'Prison Break' are set to reunite in a new hostage drama titled 'Snatchback', a series inspired by a real-life covert intelligence officer.

AceShowbiz - "Prison Break" veterans Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller are reuniting for a new hostage drama series called "Snatchback". According to Variety, the show is in development at Universal Television.

Inspired by the real-life experiences of an active covert intelligence officer, the series follows a highly skilled team of privately contracted operatives who recover hostages from exotic and dangerous locations around the world. Scott Rosenberg, known for his work on The Shield and Chuck, will serve as writer and executive producer.

Purcell and Miller rose to fame as brothers Lincoln Burrows and Michael Scofield in the original "Prison Break" series, which ran for four seasons from 2005 to 2009. The show was later revived for a fifth season in 2017. Miller subsequently announced his departure from the franchise in 2020.

Apart from "Prison Break", Purcell and Miller have previously collaborated on The CW's Arrowverse shows "The Flash" and "DC's Legends of Tomorrow". Purcell also executive produced the upcoming series alongside his wife, Tish Cyrus-Purcell, and Dannah Axelrod Summers of HopeTown Entertainment.

"We are absolutely thrilled to be a part of this team with such talented individuals," said Tish Cyrus-Purcell. "Rosenbaum has crafted an emotionally charged and high stakes world where Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller reunite, bringing to the screen the extraordinary heroes of a real-life private hostage recovery team."

Although not officially announced, another Prison Break project is reportedly in the works at Hulu, with "Mayans MC" boss Elgin James attached as writer and executive producer.
