The "Girlfriend" singer, 39, set the stage ablaze when she invited her ex-husband, Deryck Whibley, 44, for a surprise duet of Sum 41's hit "In Too Deep." The reunion was part of Avril's ongoing "Greatest Hits Tour", promoting her upcoming greatest hits album released on June 21.
Avril, who had been teasing a special surprise for the crowd, welcomed Whibley with an enthusiastic introduction. "Tonight, we have a special guest, and he plays guitar in one of my favorite bands and your favorite bands," she announced, eliciting ecstatic cheers from the audience. Whibley, armed with a gold Les Paul guitar, greeted the crowd with equal enthusiasm, "Thank you for letting me crash this party tonight.
