During her appearance on 'Call Her Daddy', the 'Girlfriend' hitmaker doesn't hesitate to set the record straight regarding claims that she's actually Melissa Vandella, a body double for the musician.

AceShowbiz - Avril Lavigne addressed the long-running conspiracy theory about herself when stopping by Alex Cooper's "Call Her Daddy" podcast. The "Girlfriend" hitmaker didn't hesitate to set the record straight regarding claims that she's actually Melissa Vandella, a body double for the musician.

In the new episode, published on Wednesday, May 15, Avril addressed fan theory that she died in the early 2000s after releasing her debut album "Let Go". However, due to her popularity, music industry execs decided to replace Canadian pop-punk superstar with a doppelganger named Melissa.

"I mean, it's just funny to me," the "Sk8er Boi" singer said of the conspiracy theory. "Like, on one end, everyone's like, 'You look the exact same. You haven't aged a day.' But then other people are like, there's a conspiracy theory that I'm not me."

She continued, "Honestly, it's not that bad. It could be worse, right? I kind of feel like I got a good one. I don't think it's negative or anything creepy. We're good." When host Alex asked the musician to confirm if she's the real Avril Lavigne, the singer responded with a laugh, "Obviously, I am me. It's so dumb. I knew you half believed it."

Alex didn't directly confirm that she believes the theory, but she pointed out that Avril looks the same as she always has. "I'm staring at you and I'm picturing you with your auburn hair. And I'm like, 'Oh my God.' You literally look the same from when you were younger," the 29-year-old host said.

Elsewhere in the episode, Avril bragged about being a "f**king awesome" romantic partner. "I would date me. I cook. I'm a really big cook, really big into, like, the house and decorating, and I have a lot of fun with that," she said.

Of her ideal type, the "When You're Gone" hitmaker noted that she likes someone who is "Rough around the edges" and "who's like me." She added that she "likes to have a good time, but is a solid. I need someone who's solid that I can lean on."

Reflecting on her romantic relationships, Avril, who is reportedly dating Tyga, said, "Some people like to have something that they're leaving and going to, and sometimes you have to take that leap of faith and just trust that, if you're not happy and it's not a healthy relationship, it's not a good situation, just to get out."

She continued, "And it's OK to have time on your own in between if you need it. Just believe and hope that something greater is out there for you. And if not, you're better off on your own than someone draining the f**k out of you."
