Scott Adsit
Robert Scott Adsit, known simply as Scott Adsit, is a celebrated American actor, comedian, and writer, best recognized for his notable role as Pete Hornberger on the critically acclaimed NBC sitcom 30 Rock. Born on November 26, 1965, in Northbrook, Illinois, Adsit grew up in the Chicago suburbs where his passion for performing arts began to take shape. He pursued his education at Columbia College Chicago, which laid the groundwork for his future career in entertainment.
Adsit's professional journey commenced in 1994 when he joined the mainstage cast of The Second City, a renowned improvisational comedy troupe in Chicago. His tenure at The Second City proved fruitful as he participated in several revues, most notably Paradigm Lost, for which he earned The Joseph Jefferson Award for Best Actor in a Comedy. This recognition marked the beginning of his ascent in the world of comedy and acting.
In the mid-2000s, Adsit expanded his creative horizons by co-directing, co-writing, and co-producing the Adult Swim stop-motion animation series Moral Orel alongside fellow creators Dino Stamatopoulos and Jay Johnston. The show aired from 2005 to 2008 and showcased Adsit’s voice talent as he portrayed multiple characters, including Clay Puppington, Orel's father. Following the success of Moral Orel, Adsit reunited with Stamatopoulos on another stop-motion series, Mary Shelley's Frankenhole, which aired from 2010 to 2012.
