Seth Green
Seth Green, born Seth Benjamin Gesshel Green on February 8, 1974, in Overbrook Park, Philadelphia, is an accomplished American actor, producer, and director. Renowned for his distinctive voice and comedic timing, he gained fame for his role as Scott Evil in the beloved Austin Powers film series. Green’s career spans several decades, showcasing his versatility across various genres in both film and television.
Green's journey in the entertainment industry began at a young age. He made his film debut in The Hotel New Hampshire in 1984, demonstrating early on his talent and passion for acting. Throughout the late 1980s, he appeared in supporting roles in notable films such as Radio Days (1987) and Big Business (1988). As the 1990s approached, Green's career gained momentum with a string of successful comedy films, including Idle Hands (1999), Rat Race (2001), Without a Paddle (2004), and Be Cool (2005). His portrayal of Scott Evil, the mischievous son of Dr. Evil, in the Austin Powers trilogy solidified his status in Hollywood.
In addition to his film work, Green made significant contributions to television. His first lead role was in the ABC sitcom Good & Evil in 1991, which earned him a Young Artist Award. He became widely recognized for his role as Oz, a teenage guitarist, in the cult classic series Buffy the Vampire Slayer from 1997 to 2000. Green's voice work has also been pivotal in his career, particularly as the character Chris Griffin on the long-running animated series Family Guy, which he has voiced since its inception in 1999. He further showcased his voice talents by voicing Leonardo in the Nickelodeon animated series Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles from 2014 to 2017 and portraying the Joker in the Mass Effect video game series.
Green's creative prowess extends beyond acting, as he is the co-creator and executive producer of the hit adult animated series Robot Chicken. This innovative show, which began airing in 2005, has garnered critical acclaim and numerous awards, including three Primetime Emmy Awards and five Annie Awards. His ability to blend comedy with pop culture references has made Robot Chicken a staple in adult animation.
In more recent years, Green has continued to evolve as a filmmaker. In 2019, he wrote, directed, and starred in the comedy-drama film Changeland, further showcasing his multifaceted talents in the industry. He has also lent his voice to the character Howard the Duck in several Marvel Cinematic Universe films and series, including Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017), and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023), as well as in the animated series What If...? (2021–2024).
Outside of his professional endeavors, Green is married to model and actress Clare Grant, with whom he tied the knot on May 1, 2010.
