BIFAs Uncovers 2009 Nominees
October 27, 2009 01:10:38Which movies are vying for the 12th annual British Independent Film Awards (BIFAs) have been unraveled on Monday, October 26 at Soho House in London with the announcement of 2009 nominees. Receiving the most nods was "Fish Tank", an Andrea Arnold's drama that won the Jury Prize at the 62nd Cannes Film Festival.
The movie revolving around the turbulent relationship a 15-year-old girl has with her mother and her new boyfriend has collected 8 nominations in total. Vying for the major categories including best British film, best director and best screenplay, it also placed its leading actress Katie Jarvis in competition for best actress and most promising newcomers.
A Couple of New Photos From Matthew Vaughn's 'Kick-Ass'
July 08, 2009 11:07:51Following the outing of Chloe Moretz's Mindy Macready image, "Kick-Ass" has got another set of photos coming out via Slash Film. One of the pictures displays main character Dave Lizewski in his Kick-Ass costume but having his mask off. The other one, on the other hand, shows an on-set photo of producer John Romita Jr. and creator/writer Mark Millar.
Beside the pics, Slash Film also brought forth updated news regarding "Kick-Ass" panel at 2009 Comic Con. The site stated it has been made official that John Romita Jr. will join director Matthew Vaughn during the "Kick-Ass" panel held on Thursday, July 23 toward the end of the day. It is the panel which will see the premiere of the comic adaptation's footage.
Official Photos From 'Kick-Ass' Exposes Dave Lizewski in Action
November 14, 2008 11:11:12First two official pictures from "Kick-Ass" have been shared by First Showing. Focusing on the titular character in action, the photos display New York City high school student Dave Lizewski in his homemade green and yellow suit and mask.
One of the images exhibits Lizewski played by Aaron Johnson kneeling on top of a man and pointing his batons to the other baddies, while the other still sees bloody Lizewski nailing a thug. Allegedly, these pictures are taken from the scene of Lizewski's first attempt on nailing crooks which ends up on YouTube and makes him famous.
