According to previous reports, Taylor-Johnson was the frontrunner to take on the iconic role, with "Oppenheimer" director Christopher Nolan thought to be a potential candidate to helm the next film in the franchise. However, the latest statements indicate that the casting process remains ongoing.
In recent polls, Idris Elba emerged as the public's top choice for Bond, despite his age (51) and his previous decision to rule himself out of the running. Elba has since reiterated his stance, stating that he will not be playing the British spy.
