An iconic tale of love and vengeance is set to make a dramatic return to the big screen with Rupert Sanders' upcoming interpretation of 'The Crow', starring Bill Skarsgard and FKA twigs.

AceShowbiz - If its marketing team had its way, the upcoming reboot of "The Crow", directed by Rupert Sanders, would team up with Bed Bath & Beyond for merchandise opportunities. Three new images released today give the film a fresh motto, proclaiming "Revenge, Rebirth, Repeat."

Bill Skarsgard stars as Eric Draven, the character made famous by the late Brandon Lee in the 1994 film. Skarsgard's version of Draven bears many similarities to Lee's, including the signature makeup, but is also adorned with tattoos that convey his tortured state as he grieves the murder of his fiancee.

The film revolves around the story of Eric and Shelly (FKA twigs), two lovers who are brutally separated by a ruthless gang. While Eric is brought back from the dead and transformed into The Crow, Shelly's soul ascends to the afterlife. Driven by vengeance and the desire for justice, The Crow sets out on a violent quest to avenge their deaths.

The new images reveal the depth of Skarsgard's portrayal, capturing the anguish and determination in his eyes. Each image bears a word that hints at the character's motivations, "Revenge," "Rebirth" and "Repeat."

The upcoming adaptation is a modern reinterpretation of James O'Barr's popular comic book character. The original film, released three decades ago, became a cult classic after Lee's tragic on-set death.

Joining Skarsgard and FKA twigs in the cast are Danny Huston, Isabella Wei, Laura Birn, Sami Bouajila and Jordan Bolger. "The Crow" is set to soar into theaters on August 23.
