The two famous actresses, who are spotted filming their new movie, are back in their iconic roles as mother and daughter in the long-awaited sequel to 'Freaky Friday'.

AceShowbiz - On Monday, July 1, Disney released a behind-the-scenes look at the production of "Freaky Friday 2", confirming that Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis are reprising their roles as Anna and Tess Coleman. The anticipated sequel, slated for release in 2025, is currently filming in Los Angeles.

Set years after the original film, "Freaky Friday 2" follows an adult Anna, who now has a daughter of her own and a soon-to-be stepdaughter. As they navigate the challenges of blending two families, Tess and Anna discover that the titular body swap might happen again.

Joining Lohan and Curtis are returning cast members Chad Michael Murray, Mark Harmon, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky and Rosalind Chao. Newcomers include Manny Jacinto, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Julia Butters and Sophia Hammons.

Curtis shared a photo on Instagram showcasing the bond between herself and Lohan on set. "WE ARE FREAKING OUT because the Colemans are getting FREAKY AGAIN!" she captioned the post.

Director Nisha Ganatra helms the sequel, produced by Curtis and executive produced by Lohan. The original "Freaky Friday" (2003) grossed over $160 million worldwide, earning Lohan an MTV Movie Award for Best Breakthrough Performance and Curtis a Golden Globe nomination.

"Freaky Friday 2" marks the latest reunion for Lohan and Curtis, who have remained close over the years. In a recent interview with ABC News, Lohan expressed her excitement about returning to the "Freaky Friday" world and reuniting with her former costar. "Jamie and I have stayed in touch over the years. It's like when you have a best friend or someone you're really close with, no matter how long you don't see them, it's like you never separated," she said.
