In court documents, the 'Beverly Hills, 90210' star, who is currently having a cancer battle, claims that her estranged husband intentionally delayed their divorce to avoid paying spousal support.

AceShowbiz - Shannen Doherty shares her theory of why ex Kurt Iwarienko delayed their divorce. In court documents, the "Beverly Hills, 90210" star claims that her estranged husband intentionally delayed their divorce to avoid paying spousal support.

The documents, obtained by PEOPLE, states that she still hasn't received many of her requests for financial information regarding Kurt's "archive" of original photography work. Shannen claims that it's delaying the process amid her cancer battle.

"It is simply not right that Kurt be permitted to prolong our divorce in hopes that I die before he is required to pay me while he continues to live his life and shirk his responsibilities to his dying wife of more than 11 years," the actress says in the documents.

Kurt's lawyer, however, denied the allegations. Attorney Katherine Heersema said that her client offered a settlement deal in October 2023, but Shannen denied it. "Kurt is not 'simply wait[ing] for Shannen to die.' He wants the best for Shannen and he wants both of them to be able to put this case behind them and move forward," the lawyer said.

As for the reason why Shannen declined the proposed settlements, the "Charmed" actress claimed it was because she thought they "skirted around the issues of his original works created during marriage" and "his earning capacity."

Shannen filed for divorce from Kurt in April 2023 after 11 years of marriage. The podcast host is asking for $15,434 per month in spousal support from the photographer and an additional $9,100 to cover the cost of her lawyers. She also asked for $11,800 for additional fees she acquired "in efforts to obtain Kurt's complete responses” for their legal proceedings.

Shannen noted that her earnings would "drastically" lessen this year as she’s been unable to work due to her “recurrent health issues." She wrote, "Today, virtually all of the income I earn is residual income from work that I performed prior to marriage. I recently learned that 'Charmed' will no longer be streaming on any major streaming platform after June 30, 2024. As a result, my future residual income will dramatically decrease."
