AceShowbiz - Emma Roberts was spotted out and about in style after getting a restraining order against a stalker who "broke into her home." On Thursday, June 6, the "American Horror Story" actress looked fashionable during a sighting in New York City.
In photos circulating online, the 33-year-old star could be seen wearing a white satin mini dress with a cute black rainbow accent in the neckline while heading back to her hotel. She appeared to be in high spirits as she flashed a huge smile to the camera.
The sighting came after Emma was given a permanent restraining order against 32-year-old man named Melvin Jeffery Conley on Thursday. According to TMZ, the actress' three-year-old son Garrett Hedlund, whom she shares with her former partner Garrett Hedlund, is also under protection.
In court documents filed in early May, Emma claimed that Melvin mentioned the little one by his name and she was therefore left "concerned about his intentions." The "Scream Queens" alum stated that the intruder broke into her Los Angeles home May 7 or 8 while she was away, looking for her landline and calling her mobile phone.
When she received a missed call from her home phone number, she thought it was from her family member. She called back only to have Melvin pick up her call. Emma said he addressed her as "Emma" and claimed that she had given him permission to enter her home and stay there. She denied the claims.
Not stopping there, Melvin allegedly sent Emma a "strange" text. The whole ordeal made Emma live "in fear he's going to try and come back to her home."
Following the judge's decision, the "Wild Child" star was granted protection for five years. Melvin was also barred from coming within 100 yards of Emma and her son, plus their home, her work and his school.
