A few days after being slapped with divorce papers by her estranged husband, the former leading lady in 'The Bachelorette' season 13 admits to having a 'difficult time.'

AceShowbiz - Rachel Lindsay has broken her silence amid her "difficult time." A few days after being slapped with divorce papers by her estranged husband Bryan Abasolo, the former leading lady in "The Bachelorette" season 13 admitted that she needed to "distract" herself through work.

In the Friday, January 5 episode of her "Higher Learning" podcast, the 38-year-old reality TV star opened about how she handled the challenging situation. Speaking to her listeners alongside her co-host Van Lathan, she said, "I didn't think I would get emotional."

Rachel went on to voice her appreciation for those who have supported her. "First off I just want to say thank you to the people who reached out," she stated. "I'm still trying to reply to people. You just never know how great your circle is until you see all the people that reach out and love you."

The attorney candidly shared, "Obviously it's a difficult time, if you've read the headlines, and you're probably wondering why I would even work. But to be honest with you I need to distract myself from myself and the best way to do that is to do something that I love and I love 'Higher Learning.' "

During the chat, Rachel let her fans know whether or not she will provide details of her separation from Bryan. "I will eventually, but now is not the time," she pointed out. On the reason why, she declared, "[I'm] just trying to take it day by day."

The statement came three days after Bryan filed for divorce from Rachel. On Tuesday, January 2, he submitted divorce papers, wherein he wrote "irreconcilable differences" as the reason behind their split. In addition, he penned December 31, 2023 as the official date of their separation.

A few hours after submitting the documents, Bryan issued a statement via Instagram that read in part, "After more than 4 years of marriage, Rachel and I have made the difficult decision to part ways and start anew." The 43-year-old chiropractor continued, "My parents have been married forever and I'm a family man, but sometimes loving yourself and your partner means you must let go."

Rachel and Bryan fell in love in season 13 of "The Bachelorette" in 2017. The season ended with the two getting engaged. Two years later, they tied the knot at the Royalton Suites Cancun in Mexico.
