Artist of the Week: Kate Voegele

Week 21 of 2009

Kate Voegele

will release a new studio album "" across America on May 19 in a bid to follow up her debut effort "". In the forthcoming effort, she pours her experiences of meeting new people, visiting new places and encountering new things during her career, which requires her to travel to many different places.

"I'm inspired by everyday life and by being busy and by living my life," the singer who plays a singer/songwriter named Mia Catalano in TV series "" opened up. "I would write a terrible record if I wasn't busy. All the new experiences, all the travel really inspired me."

"The funny thing about 'A Fine Mess' is that I really wrote it almost accidentally while I was doing all of that stuff last year," Kate continued. "I was touring, shooting 'One Tree Hill'. I thought, 'I'm going to have no time to write my second record.' And when it came time in the fall to make the second record and we were talking about it with the label, it was like, 'I kind of have this record already. It sort of wrote itself.'"

Several new songs in Kate's new album have been showcased in the The CW's popular TV series. On March 16 episode, she debuted a track called "Manhattan From the Sky", and on April 20, she revealed another song titled "Angel".

In the meantime, Kate Voegele is traveling across United States for a roadshow to support the record. She will make one last stop at Alabama Adventure in Bessemer, Alabama on July 24 for which a contest is held to win two tickets. Fans have to visit STA Travel website before July 3 to enter the contest. As for Kate's complete tour dates, they can log on to her MySpace where new materials from the new effort are also available for free stream.
