'The Great Buck Howard' Welcomes Trailer
January 23, 2009 11:01:19Yahoo! Movies has exclusively premiered the trailer to Magnolia Pictures dramedy "The Great Buck Howard". Teasing what the movie is all about, the trailer offers the story from Troy Gable's perspective, starting with the introduction of who he is and what he experiences and learns when working with Buck Howard.
Pairing up John Malkovich and Colin Hanks, "The Great Buck Howard" tells the story of Buck Howard, an illusionist in decline, and Troy Gable, a law school drop-out who becomes his assistant. Having spent his time in the limelight years before, Buck is convinced that his comeback is imminent, and all he needs right now is a new road manager and personal assistant. The latter he finds in Troy. Needing a job and a purpose, he signs on to work for the belligerent has-been magician and learns a few tricks he couldn't possibly have picked up in law school.

"Buck Howard" to Feature Clap Your Hands Say Yeah
May 15, 2007 02:05:54Filmmakers of "The Great Buck Howard" are adding an unusual member in the flick's cast list. The spokesperson of rock band Clap Your Hands Say Yeah has confirmed that all personnel of this Brooklyn-based troupe are set to appear in the drama and currently in Hollywood to film their scenes in the project.
Though complete details have not been revealed, the members, consisting of Alec Ounsworth, Lee Sargent, Robbie Guertin, Tyler Sargent, and Sean Greenhalgh, are said to play themselves in the movie for sure. Apart from their inclusion in the lineup, the quintet has already written a number of songs for the flick, which is expected to be released this autumn.

Emily Blunt Approaches "Buck Howard"
August 02, 2006 09:08:02While her starring vehicle "The Devil Wears Prada" still circulates in theaters, Emily Blunt has already made a swift move in her next step indeed. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actress is involved in a negotiation to play the female lead in "The Great Buck Howard", a film project developed by Bristol Bay Productions.
If a deal is settled, Blunt therefore will join the likes of Tom Hanks and his son, Colin Hanks, plus John Malkovich to make a star-studded cast for sure. Tom Hanks himself has been confirmed to produce the picture alongside Gary Goetzman under their Playtone Productions.
