Jackie Chan's 'The Spy Next Door' Welcomes Trailer
October 17, 2009 10:10:56Lionsgate has just released a sneak peek into its forthcoming action comedy "The Spy Next Door" in the form of new trailer. Put out via Moviefone, the promo video first introduces Jackie Chan as a secret agent undercover who is about to face his biggest challenge yet. It also takes a look at other cast members, including Billy Ray Cyrus, Amber Valletta and Lucas Till.
In "Spy Next Door", Chan goes undercover as a mild-mannered man and gets asked by his neighbor to baby-sit her three young children. What seems to be a simple task proves to be challenging for the international secret agent, especially when danger comes knocking on the door after one of the kids he is taking care of inadvertently downloads a secret code.

Put out by Spoiler TV, the set photos center their attention to two of its major characters, Jaden Smith's Dre and his Kung Fu mentor, Jackie Chan's Mr. Han. The series of images capture the two shooting for training sequence on a misty dock.
In this updated version of "Karate Kid", Jaden takes the role of a boy who moves to Beijing with his mother. There, he'll encounter a bully situation similar to what Daniel LaRusso, the main character in "Karate Kid" faced. Learning how to stand up for himself, the teenager gets a helping hand from an eccentric mentor.
'Kung Fu Kid', Possible Title for 'Karate Kid' Remake
March 30, 2009 02:03:40Columbia Pictures could be going with a different title for their upcoming remake project of 1984 "The Karate Kid". During an interview with New Zealand's 3 News in Hong Kong, Jackie Chan, the actor who has been cast as the new Mr. Miyagi, revealed that instead of using "The Karate Kid" as a title, the studio opted to name it "Kung Fu Kid".
"They don't want to call it Karate Kid anymore," the 54-year-old revealed after confirming his involvement in the remake project. "They want to call it Kung Fu Kid." While hinting on the title change, the "The Forbidden Kingdom" star didn't elaborate more on the reason behind the change. Columbia Pictures have not shared any comment on Chan's remark of the possible new title.
Jackie Chan Circles Mr. Miyagi Part in 'Karate Kid' Remake

Breaking the possible casting news is Entertainment Weekly, stating that the kung-fu movies icon will take on Pat Morita's Mr. Miyagi role in the new project.
The speculation of Chan tackling Miyagi role could be true since previously the movie's producer Will Smith has shared to MTV that the movie will be set in China. "We're making it with the China Film Group, so it'll be based in Beijing," the "Seven Pounds" actor said. "Mr. Miyagi was originally Japanese, so there'll be a Chinese adaptation to it."

According to MTV News, the two actors famous for their unlikely teaming in "Rush Hour" movies will collaborate once again to make another movie that is promised to not be a "Rush Hour" film.
To MTV on Saturday, April 12, the co-star of Jet Li in "The Forbidden Kingdom" revealed that he has talked to Tucker about the new film. "It's like two days ago when Chris Tucker called me. We sat down and decided we want to do another movie. Not a 'Rush Hour' - something new," recalled the co-star of Owen Wilson in "Shanghai Knights". "I said yes, and after I shook [Tucker's] hand, I said: 'Look, we need a middleman. I don't want to shake hands, then I go back to Hong Kong and you stay here, I get busy and you get busy. You have to have somebody in the middle to follow up, otherwise it will never happen."
Jet Li and Jackie Chan Re-Teaming for Another Movie?

According to The Associated Press, following their first teaming up in "Kingdom", both Li and Chan revealed their desire to work together again at a Hong Kong news conference on Tuesday, March 18 to promote the Lions Gate Films' movie.
Hinting on the possibility of them reteaming in another film, Chan, who gathered recognition from Hollywood though 1995's "Rumble in the Bronx" as well as "Rush Hour" series, revealed that he and Li had so much fun filming for the Rob Minkoff-directed film that they didn't want the fun to be ended there. "The first day we started filming, it felt like we had worked together for many years," he said, "after filming this movie, we didn't have enough fun." Though refusing to give out further details about their second collaboration, AP reported that the kungfu movies' stars have planned to make another movie together based on a script which they have started working on 15 years ago.

On his blog, Jackie revealed that he spent three hours in a Beijing, China studio to get the song done. It was composed by Silver Bear Award recipient Peter Kam who said that an English version may be recorded.

Jackie Chan injured himself, but is now okay. The action movie star re-injured his back while filming his latest film project "The Forbidden Kingdom" in China last week.
In his Web blog, the martial arts expert said he aggravated an old back injury when shooting a scene that required him to throw someone upward for his first collaboration with Jet Li. He said the unfortunate caused him to be "in excruciating pain" when he woke up the next day, and "could barely get myself out of my bed."

Going to his next big screen stint after that in "The Forbidden Kingdom", Jackie Chan has signed on to both produce and star in a Japan-set immigrant drama entitled "The Shinjuku Incident", Variety has revealed.
Not much is known about the flick's story apart from the fact that it will be set in the 1990s and feature lives of Chinese immigrants in Tokyo. Meanwhile, Hong Kong filmmaker Derek Yee Tung-sing has been hired to direct under Chan's JCE group banner with Emperor Motion Pictures taking care the international markets.

Feel the need to find his movie successor, Jackie Chan has on Saturday April 7th launched a new Chinese TV show project, aimed at scouting out new action movie talent.
"A lot of actors are good at fighting but (their style) is not beautiful," the action actor told an audience that included a selected 20 of the show's contestants and some Chinese celebrities. "If you can incorporate dance with an ability to perform kung fu, that would be better."

After some "controversies", New Line Cinema finally okays the production of the highly anticipated "Rush Hour 3". New Line Production President Toby Emmerich announced May 4th, 2006 that the film would start production this fall with a 2007 release date being eyed.
In the meantime, fellow actors Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan will both star in, reprising their role as LAPD detective James Carter and Chinese Chief Inspector Lee which will feature the action comedy duo traveling to Paris to battle a wing of the Chinese organized crime family, the Triads.

Besides, he also currently manufactures motorcycles and cars and owns high-rise buildings, restaurants and a growing number of stores in China. What a wealthy man ?!
