April 03, 2008 01:04:59A full trailer of the upcoming drama film "Kit Kittredge: An American Girl" has been posted online. The compilation of clips from the film starring rising star Abigail Breslin lasts up to nearly two and a half minutes.
The footage opens with a shot of a tree house. It is then revealed that the tree house is actually a base of a girl club which members are four young girls, including Kittredge. Following the girls' meeting scene, it is revealed that Kittredge and her father lose their home as well as the tree house due to bank's foreclosure. As the scene once again changes, Kittredge's adventure in her new life began as she meets other interesting characters.
Abigail Breslin to Be Honored 2008 ShoWest's Female Star of Tomorrow

The 11-year-old young actress will be presented with the award at an awards gala held to close the cinema exhibition and distribution event.
On the choosing of Breslin for the honor, the co-managing director of ShoWest, Mitch Neuhauser, said, "Since making her big-screen debut at the tender age of 5, Abigail Breslin has impressed critics and movie fans across the world with her versatile, enchanting and charismatic performances."

The coveted seat is finally taken by Canadian filmmaker Patricia Rozema. Yes, Picturehouse and HBO Films have assigned the "Mansfield Park" director to helm their "Kit Kittredge: An American Girl Mystery", a live-action feature inspired by the line of dolls and accessories.
Being so, Rozema thereby will direct based on script penned by Ann Peacock, known for her work in "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe." Story follows the titular character, a clever and resourceful nine-year-old girl, as she grows up during America's Great Depression.

An international association of Internet-based cinema journalists, the Online Film Critics Society has officially announced yesterday, January 8, the list of recipients for its OFCS Awards, helping narrowing names and titles seen as leading contenders for the Academy Awards, the film industry's highest honors.

Still enjoys the big success of her recent vehicle, "Little Miss Sunshine", Abigail Breslin has delightfully landed another promising acting stint in her next step. The child actress is set to star in Universal Pictures' rom com flick "Definitely, Maybe", joining other bright talents like Ryan Reynolds, Derek Luke, and Isla Fisher also Rachel Weisz and Elizabeth Banks who both have finally given their nods for the project.
Following Breslin's inclusion, Universal has officially announced that production of the film starts this week in New York City with Adam Brooks at helm. Also writes the screenplay, Brooks will be backed up by behind-the-scene team which include cinematographer Florian Ballhaus, production designer Stephanie Carroll, and costume designer Gary Jones.
