AceShowbiz - Britney Spears is back with her dancing video. When uploading a new video, the "Toxic" hitmaker told her online devotees that she hasn't danced in nine months since sparking concerns with the knife video.
"I haven't danced in so long … the last time I danced I was dancing with knives … people say I shouldn't post those !!!" the 42-year-old wrote in the Thursday, June 27 post shared on Instagram. "It's been 9 months since I have danced but I did last night … It's not very good but I did it !!!"
Back in September 2023, Britney left some people worried after sharing a video of her dancing with knives. Fans reportedly called the police, but a source described the whole incident as "overblown" and claimed that Britney was simply "expressing her freedom" with the post.
The Princess of Pop was quick to set the record straight. "I started playing in the kitchen with knives today!!! Don't worry they are NOT real knives !!! Halloween is soon," she penned at the time while throwing the knives around her head as part of her dance routine before finishing off her performance by clattering the kitchen tools together.
In the following month, Britney again insisted the knives were fake, and said in a caption for another video, "Come over don't worry I have such a warm inviting loving home with these FAKE knives!!!" She also said, "I know I spooked everyone with the last post, but these are fake knives that my team rented from Hand Prop shop in LA. These are not real knives."
"No one needs to worry or call the police. I'm trying to imitate one of my favorite performers Shakira… a performance I was inspired by!!!" Britney elaborated, referencing the Colombian singer's 2023 MTV Video Music Awards performance in September. She then added, "Cheers to us bad girls who aren't afraid to push boundaries and take risks!"
