Multiple people may be held accountable in the premature death of the Chandler Bing depicter on 'Friends' actor, as investigations by authorities near their conclusion.

AceShowbiz - As the death investigation of "Friends" star Matthew Perry approaches its final phases, law enforcement agencies believe that multiple individuals may face charges. Perry, who passed away at 54 on October 28, 2023, was found unresponsive in the hot tub of his Los Angeles mansion. The autopsy attributed his death to the "acute effects of ketamine," a decision supported by contributing factors like drowning, coronary artery disease, and the opioid buprenorphine.

Several law enforcement sources and media outlets, including PEOPLE and The Independent, have reported that the investigation involves federal and local authorities, including the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service (USPIS). The collaboration aims to uncover how Perry came into possession of a significant amount of ketamine, which may have been obtained illegally.

Perry's untimely death has raised serious questions. Although the actor was undergoing ketamine infusion therapy for depression and anxiety, the coroner's report clarified that the ketamine detected in his system at the time of death couldn't have originated from his last treatment session, which took place more than a week before. The amount of ketamine found was consistent with levels used for general anesthesia.

Authorities are seeking to identify the individuals responsible for supplying Perry with the ketamine that led to his death. The LAPD confirmed that the investigation remains open and ongoing, despite earlier claims suggesting it had been closed. Captain Scot Williams emphasized the continued efforts of the LAPD, DEA and USPIS in understanding the circumstances behind Perry's access to ketamine.

Perry's struggles with addiction were well-documented in his 2022 memoir "Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing", where he detailed spending approximately $9 million on his quest for sobriety. The actor's life was marred by addiction since a 1997 jet ski accident, which led to dependency on Vicodin, a powerful opioid. Despite numerous rehabilitation attempts, Perry's addiction persisted.

In the months leading up to his death, Perry was believed to have achieved sobriety. His mission to help others combat addiction was evident when he transformed his Malibu beach estate into a sober living facility called the Perry House in 2012. He expressed a desire to be remembered not just for his iconic role as Chandler Bing on "Friends", but for his efforts in supporting others to lead sober, fulfilled lives.
