The 2024 BET Awards celebrated black excellence in entertainment, honoring Usher with a Lifetime Achievement Award and bestowing accolades upon Victoria Monet, Tyla and other rising stars.

AceShowbiz - Hosted by Taraji P. Henson, the 2024 BET Awards honored musical icons and celebrated rising stars in a grand ceremony at Los Angeles' Peacock Theatre. R&B legend Usher received the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award, a testament to his extraordinary contributions to music.
A star-studded tribute ensued, featuring performances by Childish Gambino (Donald Glover), Keke Palmer, Summer Walker, Coco Jones, Marsha Ambrosius, Chloe Bailey, Tinashe and Mulatto. Usher's collaborators L.A. Reid and Babyface presented the award, praising his talent and work ethic. An emotional Usher expressed gratitude and forgiveness during his acceptance speech.
As for Victoria Monet, she had a resounding night, winning her first BET Award for "Video of the Year". She captivated the audience with her live performances of "On My Mama" and "Alright". In a touching moment, she shared the BET HER Award with her mother.
Tyla, a rising star, made a name for herself with two wins: Best New Artist and Viewer's Choice Best International Act. Her performance of "Jump" with Skillibeng and Gunna ignited the stage.
Megan Thee Stallion, meanwhile, opened the show with a fiery performance of "Boa" and "Where Them Girls At". Will Smith returned to music with "You Can Make It", joined by Kirk Franklin and the Sunday Service Choir. Lauryn Hill closed the night with a stirring rendition of "Lost One" and "Praise Jah in the Moonlight".

- Best International Act: Tyla
- BET Her: Victoria Monet - “On My Mama”
- Best Movie: “Bob Marley: One Love”
- Best Actor: Denzel Washington
