The 44-year-old rapper and Grammy nominee has expressed her support for her son, Jayson Scott, after his arrest in connection to a 2021 murder in Queens, New York.

AceShowbiz - Remy Ma has broken her silence following the arrest of her son, Jayson Scott, for the murder of a man in Queens in 2021. In an interview, the 44-year-old rapper expressed her support for her son's innocence.

"We stand by JaySon's innocence and pray that the NYPD will conduct a complete and thorough investigation to reveal the truth," Ma stated. "This is undoubtedly a difficult time for my family and me."

Recently, Remy took to Instagram Live to get things off her chest. She said, "Three people that when I catch them, I don't give a f**k who they call. Smacking they f**kin' cheek off and that's just that on that. And they know it too."

Scott, 23, was arrested alongside Richard Swygert, 22, and faces charges of first-degree murder, second-degree murder, criminal possession of a weapon, and reckless endangerment. The victim, 47-year-old Darius Guillebeaux, was fatally shot on June 7, 2021, in Springfield Gardens.

Swygert is also charged with three separate murders within an eight-month period. He was already in custody on Rikers Island for two other murders when charged with Guillebeaux's slaying.

Remy Ma noted the sensitive nature of the case and requested privacy as her son's legal team works to prove his innocence. "As his mother, I want to address this situation personally but have been strongly advised by his legal counsel not to say anything," she explained.

Ma, whose real name is Reminisce Kioni Mackie, has a history of legal troubles herself. She previously served six years in prison for shooting a friend outside a Manhattan nightclub in 2007. She has also been nominated for four Grammy Awards and has appeared on several high-profile Hip-Hop platforms.

Scott's arrest has raised questions about his alleged involvement and his mother's support. The case is ongoing, and an arraignment is expected to occur in Queens County court.
