Music icon Justin Timberlake finds himself embroiled in legal trouble following a DUI arrest in the Hamptons recently, but his attorney vows a vigorous defense.

AceShowbiz - Justin Timberlake, a name synonymous with music chart-toppers and dynamic stage performances, now faces a new challenge outside the entertainment world. The 43-year-old performer was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated in Sag Harbor, NY, following an incident that saw him run a stop sign and veer out of his lane on early Tuesday morning, June 18.

The singer had been dining with friends at The American Hotel, a popular spot in the Hamptons, before his late-night drive led to his arrest. Court documents detail Timberlake's apparent inebriation, mentioning "his eyes were bloodshot and glassy, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from his breath, he was unable to divide attention, he had slowed speech, he was unsteady afoot and he performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests."

Timberlake reportedly told the officer on duty that he'd only had one martini and was following friends home. Despite his statements, he refused a breathalyzer at the nearby East Hampton police station, resulting in formal charges.

Timberlake faces one count of driving while intoxicated and two traffic violations: not stopping at a stop sign and failure to stay in a proper lane of travel. He was released without bail, pending his next court hearing on July 26, which he is not required to attend.

Edward Burke Jr., a prominent attorney in the Hamptons, has taken up Timberlake's defense, releasing a statement through TheWrap on Wednesday, "[We] look forward to vigorously defending Mr. Timberlake against these allegations. We will have a lot to say at the appropriate time. He is currently awaiting full discovery from the DA's office."

This unexpected legal hiccup happens amidst Timberlake's ongoing world tour, titled "The Forget Tomorrow World Tour." Despite the charges, Timberlake remains committed to his professional obligations, with live shows scheduled for Chicago this weekend and New York's Madison Square Garden on June 25 and 26.

Concurrently, his wife, actress Jessica Biel, is filming her upcoming Prime Video thriller series "The Better Sister" in Manhattan, adding another layer of complexity to their schedules.

As of now, Timberlake's representatives have not commented on the arrest. The case continues to develop, promising to be a notable chapter in the star's life as he navigates both his professional commitments and impending legal battles.
