On the red carpet, the couple revealed their approach to relationship maintenance. "Presence," Majors told PEOPLE, emphasizing the importance of being fully engaged in each moment. The couple's relationship became public in May 2023, and they made their red carpet debut in March 2024. Good stood by Majors during his trial, where he was found guilty of misdemeanor assault and harassment. He was sentenced to one year of an in-person batterers intervention program.

The Frederick Douglass Awards Gala raised funds for the Urban League's mission to empower marginalized communities through education, economic self-reliance and civil rights activism.
