The cast and crew members of the 'NCIS' spinoff, which stars Vanessa Lachey as the first female Special Agent in Charge at NCIS Pearl Harbor, react as the series is canceled after three seasons.

AceShowbiz - The "NCIS" spinoff starring Vanessa Lachey as the first female Special Agent in Charge at NCIS Pearl Harbor has been canceled after three seasons. CBS has officially canceled "NCIS: Hawai'i", which premiered in September 2021, featuring Lachey as Jane Tennant.

The show's cancellation has been met with disappointment from the cast and crew. Tori Anderson, who portrayed FBI agent Kate Whistler, expressed her sadness in a post on social media. Anderson noted the importance of representation for women of color in the lead role.

In addition, co-creator/executive producer Christopher Silber recalled the special bond created during the show's production in Hawai'i. Silber called the cast and crew members an "ohana," which means family.

While the cancellation of "NCIS: Hawai'i" is a loss for the NCIS series franchise, fans will not have to wait long for new content. CBS has announced two upcoming shows entering the NCIS-verse. They revealed "NCIS: Origins", which will follow a young version of Leroy Jethro Gibbs, and another untitled show for Paramount+, which stars Cote de Pablo and Michael Weatherly as their "NCIS" characters Ziva David and Tony DiNozzo.

The season 3 finale of "NCIS: Hawai'i", which will now serve as the series finale, is set to air on Monday, May 6, at 10 p.m. ET/PT. The series followed Tennant and her team as they balanced their duty to family and country, investigating high-stakes crimes involving military personnel, national security, and the mysteries of Hawai'i itself.
