TLC's Chilli 'Couldn't Care Less' of Usher Proposal Rejection Story, Focuses on BF Matthew Instead

The 52-year-old singer and the 'Yearh!' hitmaker, who just wed his longtime love Jennifer Goicoechea, became an item in 2001 and dated on and off before finally calling it quits for good in 2004.

AceShowbiz - Rozanda "Chilli" Thomas wasn't bothered at all after Usher spilled the tea about their past romance. The TLC star reportedly "couldn't care less" that her ex revealed she rejected her proposal because she's now focusing on her boyfriend, Matthew Lawrence.

Sources told TMZ that the 52-year-old is enjoying a vacation in Jamaica with Matthew to celebrate his 44th birthday. The couple even shared clips from their romantic trip, which showed them cuddling, smooching and laughing together.

According to the outlet, Chilli's "mind is a world away from all this Usher stuff." The sources additionally claimed that Chilli takes marriage very seriously, so even if it comes to Matthew, she will need to be convinced first to take their relationship to a new level.

Usher made the revelation when speaking to PEOPLE. "I wanted to marry her," he divulged. "I proposed and she told me no. I went through a great deal of pain after that, not trusting women or wanting to open up." Although the situation hurt him deeply, the R&B crooner acknowledged that he "hurt her too."

Usher and Chilli became an item in 2001 when the "OMG" singer was 23. However, Usher confessed that Chilli was actually his celebrity crush for much longer.

"If I am to be honest, I was her No. 1 fan, and she was my superstar," the 45-year-old reflected. "At the age of 8, I put her poster on my wall and said, 'Man that girl is so beautiful. One day I'm going to meet her.' "

After dating on and off, Usher and Chilli called it quits for good in 2004. "I was a young man, and she had very specific rules that didn't work for me," he shared. "We were missing each other. I really did want to have a different type of relationship where she was there with me, and she couldn't be. She didn't believe that I was actually in love with her as much as I was."

Despite the breakup, Usher said things remain amicable between him and his former partner. "I'm not hurt over that at all," the singer, who just wed his longtime love Jennifer Goicoechea, admitted. "We've since become cool with each other, celebrate each other and it's always light when we see each other."
