AceShowbiz - Usher has reunited with Keke Palmer at a recent event following a public drama. When making an appearance at the 2024 NAACP Image Awards, the "Love in This Club" singer had a run-in with the former "True Jackson VP" star.
In a video making its rounds on social media on Saturday, March 16, it could be seen that the 45-year-old eight-time Grammy winner had a reunion with the 30-year-old actress at the 55th annual award show. In the clip, the two were documented having a friendly interaction.
Keke was filmed walking among unidentified people in a crowded room before she noticed Usher and approached him. She could be heard saying, "Boy! I aint seen you since the video," while seemingly making a reference to the music video for his single "Boyfriend".
Keke and Usher were then seen sharing a friendly hug as he placed both of his hands on her waist. She did not forget to also greet Usher's wife Jennifer Goicoechea, who accompanied the singer throughout the star-studded event. Keke and Jennifer also embraced each other.
The video went on to show Keke taking a photo with Usher. She was documented standing next to him, who apparently intentionally tried not to get too close to her by leaving a space in between them. The two famous figures then flashed their radiant big smiles to the camera while keeping their hands to themselves.
The footage prompted social media users to comment on their reunion. One in particular penned, "He not doing all that touchy feely when his girl around. But the next man gotta eat that when he around." Another wrote, "Usher is just a natural flirt the way he was looking at Keke. lol. I doubt he even realizes what he's doing."
The run-in came months after Keke and Usher were involved in a public drama. In July 2023, she attended one of his Las Vegas residency shows, where she donned a revealing outfit. A video of her getting serenaded by him was later uploaded on social media, prompting her baby daddy Darius Jackson to leave a mom-shaming comment.
Keke and Darius, who began dating in June 2021, share 1-year-old son Leo together. They split in October 2023 following a series of alleged incidents surrounding domestic violence throughout their relationship. The two are currently in a custody battle.
