AceShowbiz - Cheryl Burke described leaving "Dancing with the Stars" as a "scary" moment. The 39-year-old dancer quit the hit TV show in 2022, and Cheryl has now admitted that it was a very tough decision to take.
"I think my decision to leave the show was scary. It had been 26 seasons," she confessed to PEOPLE.
Despite this, Cheryl's podcast series - "Sex, Lies, and Spray Tans" - has helped her to cope with life after the TV show. She shared, "My therapist says normally I'm a professional runner, meaning I like to run away from my problems. And now I have to actually face it and face my feelings and feel everything. There's a lot of mixed emotions happening, put it that way."
In November 2022, Cheryl took to social media to announce her departure from "Dancing with the Stars". The dancer - who spent almost 17 years on the TV show - said on Instagram, "This has been one of the absolute hardest decisions of my life and I am also confident that it is the right one."
"This has truly been the experience of a lifetime. I'm looking forward to this next chapter of my career, but man will this one be hard to beat! Until next timeā¦Love you all, always forever xx (sic)."
Cheryl subsequently admitted that the TV show had "changed [her] life." She told E! News, "It's the end of an era, my time as a dancer on 'Dancing with the Stars'. It has changed my life. I have not stopped crying and I'm not one to really cry."
