AceShowbiz - Rosalia spoke out after ending her engagement to Rauw Alejandro. The "Con Altura" singer made use of her Instagram account to address her separation from her musician fiance after more than three years together.
"I love, respect, and admire Rauw. I'm not paying attention to the movies. We know what we lived," Rosalia wrote on Instagram Stories on Thursday, July 27 in Spanish. "This is not an easy moment, so thank you all for understanding and respecting me."
Rosalia's message came after she got emotional during her performance of "Hentai" at Lollapalooza Paris last Saturday, July 22. In videos circulating online, the singer could be seen wiping her eyes as she delivered a piano rendition of the track.
She also stopped a few times throughout the song to collect herself. As the crowd eventually helped her get through the song, Rosalia threw a big smile at them.
Rauw, meanwhile, took to his Twitter account to address his split from Rosalia in a statement in addition to setting the record straight on the "infidelity" speculations. "Yes, a few months ago Rosi and I ended our engagement," the "Toda" singer wrote. "There are thousands of problems that can cause a break, but in our case, it was not the fault of third parties or infidelity. During this space that I am taking to absorb all of this, erroneous public allegations have emerged."
He continued, "And for the respect that I have for her, for our families, and for everything we lived, I could not remain silent and continue watching how they try to destroy the truest love story that God has allowed me to live."
Rauw concluded his statement by thanking his devotees. "With nothing more to add, to my fans that I love so much, thank you for being there," he noted.
Rauw and Rosalia allegedly called off their engagement just days earlier. On Tuesday, July 25, PEOPLE reported that the two decided to go separate ways despite the love and respect that they have for each other.
