The 'Good 4 U' songstress pauses her show as part of her 'Sour' tour to criticize the Supreme Court amid the potential overturn of Roe v. Wade, which guarantees the right to abortion.

AceShowbiz - Olivia Rodrigo is using her voice to talk about abortion. Showing her stance in the hot debate amid the potential overturn of Roe v. Wade, the young singer has spoken up to defend women's rights to have "safe abortion" at her show.

Performing in Washington D.C. on Wednesday night, May 4 as part of her "Sour" tour, the Grammy Award-winning artist paused her concert to address the matter. "Because we're in D.C., I couldn't pass up the opportunity to say how heartbroken I am over the Supreme Court's potential decision," she told the crowd, who responded with loud cheers.

"What a woman does with her body should never be in the hands of politicians," the "Drivers License" hitmaker argued. She went on urging her fans to speak up as saying, "I hope we can raise our voices to protect our right to have a safe abortion, which is a right that so many people before us have worked so hard to get" because "it's so important."

Olivia's statements come after a leaked Supreme Court opinion draft indicated they were likely to overturn Roe v. Wade, which guarantees the right to abortion. The draft opinion, written by Justice Samuel Alito, suggested that the Court is on track to take away federally protected abortion rights and revert these decisions back to the states.

Should the draft be approved, abortion would be banned in 13 states that currently have "trigger laws" in place. The call for an investigation of the leak by Chief Justice John Roberts seems to have confirmed that the draft does exist.

Prior to Olivia, Whoopi Goldberg also supported the abortion rights on "The View". In a Tuesday episode of the talk show, the actress claimed that abortion is "a human issue" as opposed to "a religious issue." She argued, "This is not a religious issue."

The show's moderator, who has opened up about her own self-managed abortion at the age of 14, continued, "The reason abortion came about: Women in this country lived forever with it being illegal. Women, when they decide something is not right for them, they're going to take it into their own hands."

"Well, we got tired of tripping over women in bathrooms, public bathrooms, who were giving themselves abortions because there was nowhere safe, nowhere clean, nowhere to go," she added. "This law came about because people wanted people to have somewhere safe and somewhere clean."
