AceShowbiz - TV adaptation of "Locke & Key" has finally been picked up by Netflix. The streaming giant has ordered a 10-episode first season of the show, which was based on IDW Publishing comic book from Joe Hill (Stephen King's son) of the same name.

It's reported that the horror series will have 1 hour-long episodes with Netflix recasting the series. As part of the creative shakeup, Meredith Averill ("The Good Wife") and Carlton Cuse are attached to serve as co-showrunners. Meanwhile, Aaron Eli Coleite has also boarded as an exec producer as well as rewrites on the pilot episode, which was originally penned by Cuse, alongside Hill who also helped write the original pilot.

The show, however, has yet to announce the replacement for initial director Andy Muschietti ("It"), who was busy working on "It: Chapter 2" and no longer available to helm the Netflix series. Muschietti and sister Barbara Muschietti will still remain as executive producers.

Also serving as executive producer are IDW's David Ozer and Ted Adams. They are joined by Genre Arts' Lindsey Springer, Coleite and David Alpert and Rick Jacobs of Circle of Confusion.

Originally ordered to pilot on Hulu, "Locke & Key" follows three siblings who, after the gruesome murder of their father, move to their ancestral home in Massachusetts only to find a supernatural location named Keyhouse. It has magical keys that give them a vast array of powers and abilities. Little do they know, a devious demon also wants the keys, and will stop at nothing to attain them.

Hulu's "Locke & Key" stars Frances O'Connor, Nate Corddry, Samantha Mathis, Owen Teague and Danny Glover. It remains to be seen if any of them will stick around for the Netflix version.

"Locke & Key" is the latest supernatural series on the streaming series after mega popular "Stranger Things". Netflix has yet to announce the premiere date for "Locke & Key".
