AceShowbiz - A new trailer for the third season of "Supergirl" has found its way out online. The new minute-long trailer previews what to expect from the upcoming new season, including both hope and devastation.

The new trailer shows that the Girl of Steel is going to exorcize herself of the Kara Danvers persona altogether to save National City. Cat Grant can be heard saying in voiceover, "The thing that makes women strong is that we have the guts to be vulnerable. We have the ability to feel the death of our emotion and we know that we would through it to the other side." Meanwhile, someone says, "This is like the beginning of dark days."

In between action-packed scenes, fans are treated to intriguing footage. It features Mon-El embracing Kara in a beautiful field in some sort of dream sequence. Either way, it confirms that Chris Wood will return for this season to reprise his role on the series.

In addition, The CW has unveiled a slew of photos from the season premiere, "Girl of Steel". One of the photos offers the very first look at Alura Zor-El, played by Erica Durance. While the episode marks her debut in the role of Alura, the actress is no stranger to "Superman" lore. She previously portrayed Lois Lane on "Smallville".

The other photos feature Kara in a dreamy-look sequence. Donning a white dress, she can be seen standing alone in a vast field. Alex and Maggie are also featured in some of the photos.

In related news, British-born Bollywood actress Amy Jackson has been tapped to play a major recurring role as Imra Ardeen a.k.a. Saturn Girl. According to official character description, "Saturn Girl, a.k.a. Imra Ardeen, is a kind, smart and strong-willed hero who uses her telekinetic ability to help those in need. She was born on Titan, one of Saturn's moons, and arrives on Earth to help Supergirl battle one of her biggest threats." Fans assume that her appearance may somehow tie to Mon-El's return.

The actress took to her Twitter account to share the news of her new gig. "FINALLY! So now you know what I've been getting up to in Canada over the past couple of weeks 😛 #SuperGirl new recruit #SaturnGirl," so she wrote.
