Another Longtime 'The Vampire Diaries' Star Is Leaving the Show After Season 8

Kat Graham, who has been on The CW's supernatural drama since the first season, says she's exiting the series after the upcoming season 8.

AceShowbiz - Be prepared to bid farewell to another original star of "The Vampire Diaries"! Having been part of the show since its inaugural run, Katerina Graham says she's ready to leave Mystic Falls after the upcoming season 8.

The actress broke the news when she attended the 2016 iHeartRadio Music Awards on Sunday, April 3 at the Forum in Inglewood, California. "Season 8 will be my last season," she told Us Weekly, "I just hope that whatever I do after, the crew can come with me. If the crew can come with me, then we'll be good. The crew is going to be the hardest thing to let go, because we are a family."

Admitting that it would be tough to say goodbye to the show, she added, "But you know what, another season is a whole other year, and we're going to blow it out."

Graham also revealed her character Bonnie would have a big moment later this season. "There's some really intense stuff with my character this season," she teased. "I think the biggest episodes I've ever had are 20 [airing April 29] and 21 [airing May 6]. It's pretty major for the character - huge turns, a lot of stunts and cool s**t!"

"The Vampire Diaries" was left by its female lead Nina Dobrev (Elena Gilbert) in the sixth season finale, and Steven R. McQueen who played Elena's brother Jeremy departed the show earlier that season.

The supernatural drama, which is currently in its seventh season, airs Fridays at 8 P.M. ET on The CW.
