there are far more misfires than direct comedic/dramatic hits in this blood-drenched, explosion-riddled, live-action cartoon of a film; Samuel L. Jackson, Salma Hayek and Ryan Reynolds try hard, but all their violent shootouts and chases grow tedious
the hits keep on coming, but the laughs are a bit weaker in this fun but uneven sequel; The reliable magic of Reynolds, Jackson, and Hayek keeps some fun intact, but this shoot 'em up actioner is less of a blast than it could have been
some may enjoy the cacophonous, raunchy, lowest-common-denominator dreck that "The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard" has to offer; But it's undeniable that the actors, the audiences, and the filmmakers all deserve better
Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson return in a brainless, foul-mouthed sequel with a sprinkling of slapstick chuckles; The film embraces silliness to a fault. Resulting in the complete waste of its veteran Hollywood ensemble cast
lacking anything approaching originality, "Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard" is a generic, by-the-numbers action-comedy sequel. Praise be for Salma Hayek, who at least gives it gusto
it's a film that's both frantic & listless; Hitman's Wife Bodyguard is a comedy with not one legitimate laugh, and an action movie where cars keep blowing up while the A-listers yell at each other, as though that were inherently amusing or entertaining
it would barely register as humor if they weren't being delivered by some of Hollywood's most charismatic stars; But its occasional laughs drown in a sea of action-comedy tropes that have been stale for decades. These actors deserve much better
it does deliver laughs and an exciting ride; Even if "Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard" is absurd, it makes for the big, dumb fun movie experience perfect for the summer season
here's the tiresome follow-up to the tiresome action comedy with the tiresomely (and unfunnily) muddled premise; There are some almost-laughs here and there, but please tell me that we aren't in for The Hitman's Mother-In-Law's Agent's Bodyguard in 2023
full of action without thrills, comedy without laughs, noise without meaning and violence without reason, it's a headache; The jokey camaraderie between Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson can't save this loud, unfunny and unnecessary sequel
action comedy sequel has better eye than the original; Salma Hayek and Antonio Banderas bring some over-the-top fun to Ryan Reynolds' and Samuel L. Jackson's breezy summer movie franchise
a slight improvement but still soulless, unfunny junk; The jokes don't land, and though the action sequences are reasonably kinetic, they're all pitched at the same velocity and tempo, which ultimately renders them (unpleasantly) exhausting
