Kath gets a job as the hair stylist for the local theatre's main actress, Lenore. One night, after a showing of "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof", Kath confesses to Phil that she's always wanted to take to the stage. He encourages her to audition for the next play, "Cats". She thinks that's a great idea.
Kim finally agrees to get a job and accepts Phil's offer at his sandwich shop. Craig spots her and confesses to Derrick that he used to have a hot babysitter who used to watch over him while she was in her Taco Bell uniform. He visits Kim in an attempt to try to get fresh with her.
Phil tells Kath how impressed he is with Kim's working skills. Kath is flattered. They spot Lenore and call her over. She tells Kath that she has heard they are both auditioning for the same part in "Cats". Kath believes she'll humiliate herself by going against Lenore.
After seeing Kim work a real job, Kath realizes she can do anything. She hires her spiritual councilor, Athena, as her acting and voice coach. Athena is certain that Kath will win the part over Lenore. The process starts with Athena instructing Kath to start talking and acting like a cat.
Craig spots Kim passing out menus outside the mall and she tells him she knows about his uniform fetish. She agrees to fool around with him behind the dumpster. Phil checks on his staff and catches them all watching the security monitor of behind the mall and he's horrified to see Kim getting it on in her uniform and rushes outside to stop her and Craig.
Kath shows up for her audition and brings Athena and Phil for support. She is immediately intimidated by Lenore in the front row and becomes visibly nervous. She excuses herself, but Athena orders her to continue her audition. Kath goes back on stage and is joined by Athena and Craig, who sing along, as well.
The audition goes well and Kath, Athena, Phil, and Lenore all get parts in the play of "Cats". Kim watches the play and visits backstage. Phil feels bad for firing her because of the dumpster incident and hires her back. Craig gives Phil an extra thank you because that means Kim will be back in uniform.
