Three genetically identical babies are discovered during an ICE raid at the Texas/Mexico border and when they discover a fourth passport revealing a fourth baby who was taken by a couple who escaped the raid, the search is on to find the missing baby and solve the mystery of how these babies came to be on a truck smuggling people over the border. Hood quickly determines the babies are clones and suspects his arch nemesis, Geppeto, has finally succeeded in her cloning experiments. He's right and when one of Geppeto's accomplices is murdered, Hood and Rachel realize she will stop at nothing to retrieve the fourth baby. As they pursue Geppeto and the missing baby, Hood figures out that Geppeto cloned the babies so they could be organ donors for someone who needs a transplant. The transplant process would kill the babies and he's horrified by the moral implications of what she's doing. In the final confrontation with Geppeto, Hood realizes that the babies are clones of Geppeto who is terminally ill. All four rescued babies are safe from her.
