The Public Enemy rapper famously used to mistake the 'Flowers' hitmaker for the No Doubt singer when they had an encounter at the 2012 iHeartRadio Music Festival.

AceShowbiz - Miley Cyrus poked fun at herself during a recent encounter with Flavor Flav. A video taken from the 2024 Grammy Awards backstage saw the two musicians greeting each other before Miley brought up Flavor's mistake back in 2012.

The video featured the Public Enemy rapper congratulating Miley, who just came down the stage after performing her song "Flowers". After the 64-year-old emcee called her name, the "Hannah Montana" star approached him to give him a hug.

"You know it's me! I made it," she jokingly said. "You don't think I'm Gwen Stefani anymore. You used to call me Gwen every time I saw you." Flavor responded, "I know." The "Wrecking Ball" hitmaker then assured the "Flavor of Love" star, saying, "I love it."

The rapper also gave Miley a shout-out on X. Alongside the video, the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer wrote on the app, which was formerly known as Twitter, "My girl Gwen Stefani,,, I mean MILEY CYRUS @MileyCyrus Give My Girl her FLOWERS."

The two were referring to the time when they met at the 2012 iHeartRadio Music Festival. In a video taken at the event, Flavor and Miley could be seen posing for a picture before the "Fight the Power" rapper yelled, "Wow! Gwen Stefani!" while walking away.

One of his crew members then told him that she wasn't the No Doubt singer but the "Hannah Montana" star. He later quickly rushed back to the former Disney star to apologize. Miley didn't seem to be upset by the mistake as they laughed and hugged it out.

That aside, Miley had a memorable night at the 66th Grammy Awards, which took place at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 4. The "Party in the USA" hitmaker won her first-ever Grammy for Best Pop Solo Performance for her hit "Flowers". Not stopping there, she also took home the Record of the Year for the chart-topping song.
