AceShowbiz - Bella Hadid celebrated a family member's milestone. The 27-year-old supermodel made use of her Instagram account to pen a sweet birthday tribute to her dad Mohamed Hadid, who is Palestinian, as he turned 75 on Monday, November 6.

"Happy birthday to my Baba. @mohamedhadid," the Victoria's Secret model wrote on Instagram Story earlier this week. Not to be ashamed of her heritage, she added, "Born in Nazareth, Palestine. November 6, 1948."

In the birthday shoutout, Bella, who has been a vocal supporter of Palestine, was seen posing with her dad at what seemed to be a Palestine-related event. Rocking an orange jumpsuit, the sister of Gigi Hadid stood next to the real estate developer who looked dapper in a black suit.

Bella's post arrived after it was reported that Dior Beauty replaced her as the brand's ambassador with an Israeli model May Tager. The brand unveiled a new ad for the brand's new perfume La Collection Privee from its holiday season collection that highlighted May. Meanwhile, Bella, who was first unveiled as its ambassador back in May 2016, was visibly absent.

The alleged shift immediately sparked outrage within social media users. "The fact that dior still gives the wifebeater johnny depp a platform despite everything that happened just tells you everything about that brand," another user noted. "Absolutely vile and unprofessional to target bella when she has been vocal about palestine from the very beginning."

Another supported Bella, saying, "Lmao they got rid of the most famous model, she don't need dior lol she rich enough, bye bye dior." Echoing the sentiment, one other wrote, "Bella Hadid is literally THE model of this generation, their LOSS. Slay Bella, Palestinian Queen."

As for Mohamed, he recently made headlines after facing backlash over one of his Instagram posts amid the Palestine-Israel conflict. He was slammed online after comparing the Israeli government to Nazis. The since-deleted post featured a side-by-side comparison of the two's alleged similarities. It was written that both of the parties "expelled millions from their homes" and "enforced collective punishments."

The infographic also showed that Israel "put racial groups in ghettos & camps," which are located in "Gaza," while Nazis did the same in "Auschwitz." It further suggested that Israel's "signature method" was "carpet bombing," whereas Nazis used "gas chambers."

"And both [Nazis and Israel] added and labeled the victims as Terrorists.. regardless of their peacefulness of other activities. Some Palestinians and some Jews even changed their names," Mohamed wrote in the caption.
