The network confirms that Jon Stewart will remain hosting the show until later this year, but provides no details on the reason behind his exit.

AceShowbiz - It's official, Jon Stewart is leaving "The Daily Show". Comedy Central has confirmed his departure from the show he's hosted for 17 years.

"Jon will remain at the helm for 'The Daily Show' until later this year," Comedy Central said in a statement. "He is a comic genius, generous with his time and talent, and will always be a part of the Comedy Central family."

No words though on the reason that prompted Jon's retirement from the show. Jon himself has not yet issued any statements regarding the matter.
