Details of 'Thor' and 'The Avengers' Leaked

Little has been known about the plots of upcoming Paramount Pictures' movies, "Thor" and "The Avengers", but Comic Book Movie has come out with news of possible storyline of both films. According to the site, Ain't It Cool News (AICN) is the one who was able to get the details of the Marvel superhero films.

[SPOILER ALERT!] "Thor" is said to be started with 6 warriors, Thor, Loki, the Warriors 3, and Sif, in Asgard, where Odin is ruling. Loki is adopted, but he will later kill his father Odin and usurp his throne, and somehow Thor is cast out to Earth. Thor then lands in a desert, and is promptly run over by Natalie Portman as a PhD cosmology student and Stellan Skarsgard as her Norwegian professor, "who have gone out to study though telescopes a strange cloud in the cosmos."

Kat Dennings Among Cast for 'Thor'

Following several actors who have been previously confirmed to join "Thor", Kat Dennings also has a part in the film. The news was first spilled by the film's star Natalie Portman when she was interviewed by MTV Splash Page. "Well I'm really excited. Kat Dennings is going to be in it with me and she's a good friend and an amazing actress, so I'm looking forward to that," the depicter of Thor's first love Jane Foster said.

Dennings' inclusion in the cast ensemble for the film was later confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter. However, there has been no word on what character that will be played by the 23-year-old beauty as the site claimed Marvel Studio keeps a closed lid on her role.

Another actor has joined the cast ensemble for adventure movie "Thor". According to The Hollywood Reporter, Paramount Pictures has tapped Idris Elba to play Heimdell. The character is described as the guardian of Asgard, who stands on the BiFrost Bridge and is ready to defend the city from intruders.

Before being slated to appear in the Kenneth Branagh-directed movie, Elba starred opposite Beyonce Knowles in "Obsessed". He will be next seen in the heist thriller "Taken" and will have a turn in Dark Castle's DC Comics adaptation "The Losers". The British actor also has a recurring role as Charles Miner in NBC's hit series "The Office".

Following announcement about the shooting schedule, the set of "Thor" has been built. The news was brought by editor in chief of Marvel Comics Joe Quesada, who tweeted, "I could listen to [director Kenneth] Branagh talk about Thor all day long. Cast is in place, sets are being built and screenplay is brilliant. Marveldom rules!"

Beside Quesada, comic book writer Brian Michael Bendis is among some people who were able to see the set for the first time. "Broadcasting live from marvel west. 'Thor' Finds Shooting Location, Begins Filming in January

After the president of production for Marvel Studio, Kevin Feige, claimed "Thor" will start filming in early 2010, Production Weekly has obtained new details about the production schedule of the movie. On Friday, November 13, the site reported that the filmmakers have chosen some places as the shooting location.

Beginning in the middle of January next year, the principal photography reportedly will take place in Los Angeles. Later, in March, the crew and the cast members for the superhero movie will move to Santa Fe in New Mexico to continue the shooting until late April.

According to Ain't It Cool News, "Valkyrie" actor Matthias Schweighofer has tossed in the names of those two actors into the film's cast ensemble in a recent interview with the German edition of GQ.

Despite the claim that the two have joined the cast, it is still unclear what part each of them will play on the superhero story. A casting report involving Stellan Skarsgard has come in for "Thor". A Swedish site, Ystads Allehanda, has recently brought up to the attention the news that the Commander Maximilian Richter of "Angels & Demons" has boarded this superhero movie for a role yet to be disclosed.

The sources were not sure about the name of the character potentially carried out by Biel, but they believe it is likely to be one of the female characters from the animated "Hulk vs Thor". Jackson's Nick Fury won't be the only character appearing in multiple Marvel movies since recent update has pointed out on the possibility of Thor's nemesis Loki to cross over between films. The likelihood of the matter was thrown in by Marvel's president of production Kevin Feige during Marvel Studios presentation on Sunday, June 7, as reported by First Showing.

The studio topper confirmed that Tom Hiddleston has been tapped to play Loki in "Thor", and added that the actor along with Thor's depicter Chris Hemsworth has been cast for multiple movies and "multiple franchises", which include "The First Avenger: Captain America" and "The Avengers". Empire Online has published progress report for "Thor" and "The Avengers" following an interview with President of Production at Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige. Addressing on the two Marvel's upcoming superhero movies, Feige dishes on the potential timeline for "Thor" casting announcements and on Zak Penn's work on "Avengers".

In the first place, the studio executive reveals that Marvel "will probably be having cast announcements in the next month or so on Thor."
