Official Synopsis and First Arts of Final 'Shrek' Movie Released
November 25, 2009 05:11:57"Shrek Forever After" is starting to get in shape with the release of the promotional arts and the official synopsis. In the first still of the fourth film, the beloved green ogre is pictured with Rumpelstiltskin, the little troublemaker who made brief appearances in "Shrek 2" and "Shrek the Third". There's also a look of a smiling Donkey who is voiced once again by Eddie Murphy.
"Forever After" will see Shrek striking a deal with Rumpelstiltskin to regain his ogre mojo. After getting hitched to ogress Fiona and having triplets, Shrek "has lost his roar" that used to send villagers running away in terror. "Now they run to him and ask him to sign their pitchforks and torches," said director Mike Mitchell.

No Baddie Role for Tom Cruise in 'Shrek Goes Fourth'
September 17, 2008 11:09:59Tom Cruise won't be lending his voice to the green ogre's villain in "Shrek Goes Fourth". His representative Jeff Raymond has debunked the speculation ignited earlier through E! Online stating simply and without further explanation, "As of today, there is no truth to the Tom Cruise-Shrek 4 rumor." On the other hand, DreamWorks have declined to give any comment.
Back on September 4, Cinema Blend sparked speculation that the "War of the Worlds" star may be on the run to give voice to one of the villains in the next installment of the Ogre comedic tale. At the time, the site pointed out that director Mike Mitchell, who is attached to the project, is rumored to be "something of a Tom Cruise fan".

According to Cinema Blend, the 46-year-old may be on the run to voice one of the villains in the next installment of the Ogre comedic tale. Nonetheless, it should be noted that the truth in Cruise's participation has yet to be proven.
"Shrek Goes Fourth", the fourth installment of the hit animation movies from DreamWorks, has been said to be dealing with the origin story of the titular character. Shrek 4 to Be a Prequel
May 24, 2007 11:05:26Talking about the future of "Shrek" franchise to The Hollywood Reporter, DreamWorks exec Jeffrey Katzenberg has eagerly unveiled a layer on "Shrek 4" saying the project will have an "origin story", which could only mean that this fourth installment of the series is going to be a prequel.
Being so, pic then has a great probability to tell about where our beloved ogre came from or how he happened to live in a swamp on his own without any other family members. The prequel idea, in the meantime, matched a remark made by "Shrek the Third" producer Aron Warner at the L.A. press day suggesting the movie may not be set in Kingdom of Far Far Away.

DreamWorks Animation has officially announced Tuesday, October 31 that "Shrek 4", the fourth installment of "Shrek" series, will be made for a 2010 release. The whole original cast is expected to once again lend their voices with Tim Sullivan penning the script.
Since the release of the first installment in 2001, the franchise has given superb profit for DreamWorks with "Shrek" grossing $267 million and "Shrek 2" scoring even bigger at $441 million. As for the third one, "Shrek the Third", it has been confirmed that the movie will hit theaters on May 18, 2007.

The third one was definitely not as good as the other two, but it had its high points. I just hope that they throw in some really funny material for this one to make up for what was missing from 3.
