'Sex and the City' Sequel Stepping Closer to Materialization

Rumor has it, "Sex and the City 2" is close to final approval. Bringing the latest news about the proposed project, Entertainment Weekly (EW) reported that a source close to the sequel of "Sex and the City" has claimed the follow-up feature film project for the popular TV series of the same name is getting "ever closer, every day".

While noting that the script for the sequel is yet to be completed by screenwriter Michael Patrick King, the insider claimed that the plot will be "more comedic, and shorter, than the first" and it will still include the fabulous clothing and expensive accessories as "there's still a need for escapism". EW further suggested that the sequel will most likely to start its principal photography this summer for summer 2010 release.

The sequel to "Sex and the City" movie has had its potential storyline, so claimed the movie's star Sarah Jessica Parker. Though not revealing much about the plot itself, the co-stars of Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon insisted that it most likely won't be about Carrie dealing with motherhood.

To MTV, she nixes the rumor that a baby will be brought to Carrie's life. "[Motherhood] doesn't seem as if that's going to be a choice she'll make," the 43-year-old explained, adding further, "It feels a little bit manipulative to toss that into the mix because she seems so pointed in a different direction." After months of uncertainty hanging over "Sex and the City" sequel, a ray of light comes from one of the hit movie's stars, Kim Cattrall. During her appearance on Britain's "The Paul O'Grady Show", the 52-year-old exclaimed to guest-host Spice Girls' Melanie Brown that the sequel is indeed in the pipeline, stating, "Yes there will!"

According to the BBC, the Golden Globe Award-winner even went further by revealing when the production may possibly start. "We will do the sequel next summer," she gushed. "We wanted to the first time, and now we're hopefully doing it again for the second time." Despite her excitement over the sequel, Cattrall pointed out that it was "difficult getting everybody who's so incredibly busy all together at the same time."

Reported to be in negotiation stage, a sequel to "Sex and the City" seems to be getting closer to happen. Talking to EW's Insider Blog, writer/director Michael Patrick King speaks out that he still thinks that a follow-up story is possible to be made saying, "It doesn't feel done to me at all. It feels like it generated a whole new burst of enthusiasm for these characters."

He further adds, "I thought if I could come up with a really fun, worthy story it would certainly be a great chance to do it again." When asked further about ideas he has for the sequel, he refuses to give out any hints stating, "If I tipped my head right now, ideas would come pouring out." this movie was great. its sort of different to the episodes of satc but its still the same characters and still an amazing clip. outfits will inspire to because they are fab. people that are kind of prudes for sex scenes, dont worry theres not alot of that going on but there still are scenes. overall its great, brilliant twist and u will be on the edge of ur seat wanting more at the end of the film.
