First Six Minutes of 'The International' for Viewing Pleasure

A couple days before "" opens wide, the first six minutes of the espionage film has been made available to view. Courtesy of MSN, the video focuses on 's Louis Salinger and Ian Burfield's Thomas Schumer as they try to get information over the illegal activities done by International Bank of Business and Credit.

The thriller begins with a close-up shot of Salinger who despite the rain stays vigilant on watching the parked car in front of Berlin's Central Station. Inside the car, Thomas Schumer is seen talking to who seems to be an informer. Pressing to get his evidence, he arranges for another meeting with the man behind the wheel before getting out of the car.

On Monday, February 9, a special screening for the upcoming espionage film, "", has been held at AMC Lincoln Square in New York City. The premiere event was attended by some of its cast members, including , , Brian F. O'Byrne and Nilaja Sun.

Joining those stars on the red carpet was the thriller's director Tom Tykwer. Seen as well in the red carpet were many television stars, among them were "" actress Amanda Setton, "" actress , "" actress and "" actress . Beside the TV stars, 's lead vocalist Michael Stipe has also been spotted on the evening.

Apple has exclusively posted a clip from "". Serving as an extended version of the previously-released clip entitled "The Chase", the footage provides a look at the scene before and chase the possible assassin of the rallying politician.

Centering its story on Interpol Agent Louis Salinger and Manhattan Assistant District Attorney Eleanor Whitman, "The International" follows the two as they try to uncover the money laundering and illegal arms trading done by one of the world's most powerful banks. Following the money from Berlin to Milan to New York to Istanbul, they soon find themselves putting their lives at stakes to bring justice.

Three Fresh Clips of 'The International' Come Out

Espionage film "" has three new clips posted in three different sites. One called "It's About Control" came from MSN, another one titled "The Chase" was found through IGN, and the other one was an exclusive clip from MTV. All of the clips feature the thriller's leading man, , in his search for justice.

In "It's About Control", Owen and his co-star, , are seen listening to a man's explanation about the real reason behind the attempt to make the world's greatest bank an exclusive broker for international arms dealing. Meanwhile, the "The Chase" clip displays the scene where the two actors run after a man and Watts ends up being hit by a car driven by the man they chased. The third clip from MTV previews the footage in which Owen walks out of a building and receives an alarming phone call.

The 59th Berlin International Film Festival has found its opening night movie. In a press release outed on Friday, November 28, it has been revealed that British-German co-production "" will kick off the festival with its world premiere on February 5, 2009.

Though being the opening movie, this conspiracy thriller starring and will be screened out-of-competition in the Competition program of the festival which is also known as Berlinale. This will be director Tom Tykwer's second movie to open Berlinale following -starrer "Heaven" in 2002.

Seems quite comfortable playing in thriller genre lately, has reportedly nabbed another leading role in an action thriller flick entitled "" set to be developed under Columbia Pictures banner.

Scheduled to start filming September this year, the picture is said to concern an Interpol agent who investigates corruption at powerful banking institutions. German filmmaker Tom Tykwer, fresh from helming "", is on duty to direct from script written by Eric Singer.
