The House On Straw Hill tells the story of film director Paul Martin (Kemp) who has a nervous breakdown after seeing his best friend and producer being tortured and murdered by a crazed writer whose work they rejected. When his agent finds a country retreat for him, he begins to recover and with the help of his new secretary even begins working again. But Paul Martin's past is about to catch up with him: he's in trouble with the mob and his old backer Jack means to collect what's rightfully his by any means necessary... and if that wasn't enough, The House On Straw Hill holds dark secrets - the owner has disappeared mysteriously and the austere family retainers are secretive and menacing... and someone prowls the rambling mansion at night, stalking Paul. It seems his psychotic nemesis is on the loose and time is running out for Paul as he enters into a deadly game of cat and mouse.
