What Collector's Set of 'Hellboy II: The Golden Army' Has to Offer
November 08, 2008 10:11:21Next Tuesday, November 11, Universal Studios Home Entertainment will make available a special collector's set of "Hellboy II: The Golden Army". Offering more, the special set bids 3-disc DVD, excerpts from the journal of director Guillermo del Toro, a poster and limited edition golden army statue with its certificate of authenticity.
Coming out at the same time the DVD and Blu-ray version of the action fantasy movie hit the shelves, the particular set also offers lots of bonus features from a two-and-a-half hour long documentary on the making of the action adventure movie to set visit featurettes. To get a taste of what the collector's set looks like, a video about the special product has been compiled and can be seen below.

Will 'Hellboy III' End With Hellboy's Death?
August 07, 2008 01:08:11When talking about the direction to which he is going to bring "Hellboy III", director Guillermo del Toro stated that the third of the planned trilogy is about him being an adult and dealing with the consequences resulting from "Hellboy II: The Golden Army" hinting that the big red demon is most likely to meet his doom. However, that is the one idea that creator Mike Mignola wants to postpone.
When asked to clarify del Toro's statement, "The third one would be facing your destiny, if such a thing exists, and making the ultimate decision," Mignola shared his conflicting idea with the renowned director. "The problem is, what del Toro's talked about to me is that 'Hellboy III' would be the end of Hellboy," explained the comic book artist. "And here's where we have the big conflict."

Sharing what he has in mind of the third installment, the 43-year-old shared a bit of the film's possible plot.
Talking about the upcoming "The Golden Army" with MTV, the man behind "Pan's Labyrinth" revealed that in the third film, Hellboy is most likely to face his own destiny. Elaborating on what he meant, del Toro said, "The third one is the adult consequence of what he chose in the second movie. July 01, 2008 03:07:09Though many scenes have been exposed through the earlier released trailers and other kinds of video footages, not much of action sequences have been let out on the videos promoting the upcoming "Hellboy II: The Golden Army". Still, fans do not have to wait any longer because a series of new clips has done the job.
Releasing officially seven new clips cut from the sequel film, Universal Pictures unearthed two scenes in which the big and red superhero battles the new line of monsters, such as the golden army themselves, and several other scenes. Three of the seven clips have been leaked out earlier. They contain footages showing Hellboy being toyed around by Johann Krauss, the BPRD team being introduced to Krauss and an agent is being attacked by a violent tooth fairy. The one where BPRD team meets Krauss for the first time is also being posted below along with the four other new clips.

The first video footage posted below is an animated prologue which is said to open "Hellboy II". It serves to help fans and movie lovers understand the origins of the Golden Army itself and why the truce is made in the first place. 'Hellboy 3' Targeting 2012 Release
June 27, 2008 01:06:58"Hellboy II: The Golden Army" is still weeks away from its theatrical release, but the talks about the third movie have apparently begun. In an interview with "Hellboy" director Guillermo del Toro at the 34th Annual Saturn Awards in Los Angeles on Tuesday, June 24, it was revealed that the filmmakers behind the action adaptation movie have discussed about "Hellboy 3".
Unveiling the plan for another follow-up movie for the big and red superhero, del Toro confessed that he might tackle the work after he is finished with his J.R.R. Tolkien's adaptation project, "The Hobbit". It means that the third film might come out in 2012. When talking to Collider about the matter, the filmmaker of "Pan's Labyrinth" theorized that since "Hellboy" was released in 2004 and its sequel gets 2008 screening, the third installment should come in four years time. The less than two minutes video footage unfortunately is dubbed in Russian. But on the positive side, it showcases many amazing fighting sequences and new unseen footages.
The trailer opens with a compilation of clips suggesting that something bad is going to happen. Then, the footages move to show the evil elf prince who is gathering his army. But, Hellboy and his BPRD team are ready to stop any kinds of monsters, demons and trolls coming out their way to conquer the world of human. This trailer also offers some funny moments, such as when Hellboy answers a fist-knocking challenge from an ugly looking monster, a challenge that he wins easily using his rock hand.

The posters unveiled three of the film heroes, Hellboy, Liz Sherman, and Abe Sapien, and two of the baddies, Prince Nuada and the Angel of Death. Hellboy's poster can be seen above on this news' photo, while the rest can be viewed below. Each of the characters portrayed shows off their unique characteristics in the pictures, like Hellboy and his gigantic gun, Liz and her flaming hands and Prince Nuada with his spear.

Each video noted as "Director's Notebook" takes different running time, the first one lasts for more than a minute while the second runs for less than a minute. Still, the two help fans to have an idea about some of the characters featured in the movie.
The first featurette let out the first look into Angel of Death, which is displayed in its original sketch. The footage showing del Toro's earlier drawings is accompanied by his explanations on the intricate character as well as on the changes that had to be done on the realization of the particular character. And apparently, it would generate mixed thought from the fans since report suggested that though a third film may be made, it would be the last "Hellboy" film.
Talking to SciFi, director Guillermo del Toro revealed that whether the third "Hellboy" film will be brought up to the big screen or not depends on the outcome of the upcoming sequel. The good news is he has prepared ideas for it, but on a downer side, he insisted that he won't do more than that. "If there was ever a third one, I would really make sure that we at least sign a contract that there is no more," explained the filmmaker. "No prequels and no sequels: nothing. If that happens, then there is a third one we have planned, and the seeds are planted in this film."

March 06, 2007 03:03:29Giving an update on his next starring vehicle of "Hellboy 2: The Golden Army", Ron Perlman has eagerly told the LA Daily News that director Guillermo del Toro has headed to Budapest to "zero in on the beginning of principal photography" and that production will begin around the end of May.
The actor also opened up an interesting tidbit that the flick will contain "an epic quality" even as it "continues to explore all the things that are great about this character - a superhero who is such an underachiever and such an adolescent." In addition, the "Blade II" star revealed that he now is busy doing exercises in order to fit himself into the suit he is about to don again for playing the titular character.

Universal Takes Over "Hellboy 2"
