'G-Force' Takes Down 'Half-Blood Prince' at North American Box Office

Walt Disney Pictures' live action and computer-generated animation family feature, "", has made a surprising debut at the North American box office. Pulling in $31.7 million over the three-day weekend, the Jerry Bruckheimer-produced movie took over the #1 position from last week champion, "".

According to Paul Dergarabedian of Hollywood.com, the strong run of "G-Force" has benefited from a "great marketing campaign and a premise that had people scratching their heads while simultaneously grabbing the family." He further claimed, "This summer is all about packaging and escapism. People were scratching their heads and dragging their kids to go see this thing."

Sunday, July 19, has become one special day for "" as Walt Disney Pictures held a world premiere event for the forthcoming comedy adventure. Making use of the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, California, the mouse house rolled out red carpet in front of the theater to greet incoming celebrities.

'G-Force' Gets a '3-D Action' Featurette

Walt Disney Pictures have released a brand new featurette for their upcoming 3-D comedy adventure "" through Yahoo! Movies. A little more than one minute long, the behind-the-scenes video highlights on the 3-D action and contains interview commentary from producer Jerry Bruckheimer as well as footage from the Hoyt Yeatman-directed movie.

Most of the footage, which focus on one of the four-legged agents named Darwin, are similar to the ones seen in the trailer, but they still provide some fresh take at the movie. Meanwhile, Bruckheimer starts his commentary explaining what is the core story of the movie and then promises that the filmmakers are going to do things that audiences have never seen before.

A brand new trailer for "" has arrived. Presenting similar time frame to the one previously released, this new promotional video opens to a different scene. While the earlier trailer begins with an introduction to the new kind of espionage animals, this trailer starts with agent Darwin giving a report on his spying job.

As soon as Darwin finishes his report, his leader informs other team members to move on with the operation. The new trailer then continues, sharing more sneak peek and tickling scenes from the movie which blends live-action with CGI technique. It tells that when the government shut down their pet project, the elite covert agents consisting of highly trained guinea pigs are forced to go back to their natural habitat.

hmmm...is this the long awaited g-force movie based on the 1970's cartoon ? saw a trailer about 3 years back that looked really good & it was live action! but just like a roger corman movie it sank without trace for some reason...no doubt it will do a fantastic 4 maneuver.

Our kids loved it and so did we! Best 3D film I've seen yet and Tracy Morgan and Penelope Cruz were great in it!

WOW THAT MOVIE WAS EXCELLENT AND BECAUSE THE MOVIE WAS IN 3D IT WAS EVEN BETTER AND ALSO BECAUSE PENELOPE CRUZ AND TRACY MORGAN WERE THERE..

This movie was so funny!! I loved it! I love the little guinea pigs they were so adorable! I love the whole story line and I was surprised that the mole was bad> It was an interesting Moie and I think anyone of all ages would have fun watching it!

I dont know why a some people dont like the movie, its a good story, it has action, comedy, popular music, and other stuff. It was a really good! it is my favorite movie, i liked the kind of story between Darwin and Hurley, the 2 brothers, it kind of reminded me of me and my sister. it was a lot of fun.
