One-on-One With 'Death Race' Cast and Crew
August 18, 2008 04:08:07Courtesy of Movie Web, a video interview with "Death Race" cast and crew can now be enjoyed. In an exclusive one-on-one interview, director Paul W.S. Anderson and stars, such as Jason Statham, Joan Allen, Ian McShane, Natalie Martinez and Tyrese Gibson sat down to discuss about their insight on the film. The footage is compiled in the style of a featurette. Hence, viewers are presented also with clips from the upcoming action movie.
Resolving around a three-time speedway champion whose record is impaired with his ex-con status, "Death Race" follows Jensen Ames and his effort to gain freedom. Framed for a murder he didn't commit, Ames is sent to the toughest prison in future America, Terminal Island where he is offered a trade he couldn't refuse, his freedom. But, to obtain that, he has to survive and win the vicious three-day challenge known as "Death Race" in which the most malicious criminals gather to fight for their own liberations.

'Death Race' Let Out Action-Packed First Clip

Displaying the scene where Jensen Ames played by Jason Statham is navigating through the rain of fire let out by his competitors, the clip shows the intensity of the deathly race which ends with a big bang.
Following Ames' fight for freedom, "Death Race" tells the story of the ex-con who is framed for a murder and his task in joining an insane three-day challenge set by Terminal Island's warden. Facing the most vicious criminals in the country, the three-time speedway champion now has to outsmart and outgun the others to come out alive.

June 14, 2008 09:06:15Giving sneak peak into Paul W.S. Anderson's movie which is loose remake of Roger Corman's 1975 "Death Race 2000", Universal Pictures have released the trailer to "Death Race". The video footage pretty much provides the first real look into the explosive and action-packed movie. It also throws in the background story to the film.
Exposing the high octane action sequences of the action thriller movie, the more-than-two-minutes long trailer opens with general description of the deathly race itself from Terminal Island's warden accompanied with glimpses from the insane race. The footage continues showing a man coming into a prison which later is identified as Jensen Ames, a former racer. Knowing his potential of boosting the ratings of Death Race, the warden offers freedom to Ames if he is willing to join the race. With that, the spectacular race begins.

'Death Race' Being Summer of 2008 Movie
May 12, 2008 01:05:48The forthcoming action movie starring "The Transporter" star Jason Statham, "Death Race", is going to blow out the theaters earlier than its original schedule as distributor Universal Pictures announced scheduling change of the remake film. The tidbit is now slated for Summer 2008 release.
Pushing the release date forward from its initial date, September 26, Universal have scheduled "Race" to arrive in theaters a month prior on August 22, 2008. With the new agenda, it would have to face Uma Thurman's romantic comedy "The Accidental Husband" and Nicolas Cage's action thriller "Bangkok Dangerous".

Death Race Cast Growing
July 31, 2007 09:07:23Giving an update on the casting of "Death Race", director Paul W.S. Anderson has openly revealed to IGN Movies at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con that Tyrese Gibson and Joan Allen have both joined Jason Statham as the cast members of the flick.
"Jason Statham's playing Frankenstein and Machine Gun Joe's played by Tyrese Gibson. And Joan Allen is the big villain baddie of the movie, which I'm very excited about," the British filmmaker informed. "She's gonna kick Statham's ass!"

Paramount Plunges into "Death Race"
August 02, 2006 02:08:42Film remake apparently is still be seen as a profitable project in the industry as Paramount Pictures has set to bring up "Death Race", a remake of the 1975 flick entitled "Death Race 2000", on the big screen.
While cast remains a big question, the studio has appointed Paul W.S. Anderson to both direct and write the movie, the latter task to be carried out alongside J.F. Lawton. In the meantime, Anderson will also take the producer's seat, lining up with the likes of Jeremy Bolt and Roger Corman who has been known to be the producer of the original version.
