Preview to 'Avatar' Soundtrack Shared
November 25, 2009 03:11:03After teasing through a lot of "Avatar" clips, the 20th Century Fox has tried to attract audience by giving samples of the movie score, including "I See You" that is preformed by Leona Lewis. Thirty-second snippet of each song, which will be included in the soundtrack album, can be heard at ex libris.
Beside giving the preview score, the studio has also launched an interactive trailer that allows viewers to access special additional content embedded in the piece. As the trailer is played, it pauses and allows the viewers to watch featurettes on the characters and monsters of Pandora.

Thirty Minutes of 'Avatar' Not Yet Done
November 21, 2009 10:11:54Less than a month before "Avatar" world premiere on December 10, "around thirty minutes of the movie remain incomplete", producer John Landau said. Speaking to The Wall Street Journal, the filmmaker claimed the scenes need work ranging from sound mixing through color timing along with visual effects. Moreover, Landau argued that there is "little meaningful difference between principal photography and special effects."
If there is a thing that can relieve the problem, digital visual effects company Weta has completed their work on the film, MarketSaw reported. Beside the New Zealand based company, there are six other FX houses involved in the making of the James Cameron's sci-fi movie project. However, it is not known whether or not those companies have wrapped their parts of the film.

After "Delgo" filmmakers threatened to sue for stealing their story ideas earlier, the upcoming sci-fi movie has been slammed with a rip-off report. I09 has recently reported that there are too many similarities between this James Cameron's feature project and a 1957 novella by Poul Anderson entitled "Call Me Joe".
Claiming to have been tipped by its reader, the site pointed out on the similarities from the wheel-chair bound lead character to the artificial created body. "Like Avatar, Call Me Joe centers on a paraplegic - Ed Anglesey - who telepathically connects with an artificially created life form in order to explore a harsh planet (in this case, Jupiter)," it began explaining.

More 'Avatar' Photos Come Out

After a number of high resolution pictures of the sci-fi movie came up earlier, Market Saw brought forth three other new images. Two, which center on Neytiri and Jake's avatar, are high quality pictures, while the other one presents a scan of Grace's avatar from a French magazine.
These three fresh photos add on the ones coming out hours earlier. The previously-released pics from the movie first conceived by director/producer/writer James Cameron 14 years ago capture Neytiri in action and Jake's avatar among the human. A shot of Jake observing what seems to be his avatar's tank and the aerial shot of Pandora are also included.

'Avatar' Score to Feature Vocals in Na'vi Language

Talking to MusicScore Magazine, the executive vice president of Fox Music unraveled that the music will feature "a great deal of acoustic and electronic rhythmic elements driving the score and vocalists singing and chanting in the fictional Na'vi dialect.".
Sharing more about the music Horner created for the sci-fi movie, Knobloch claimed it to be epic. Six New Photos From James Cameron's 'Avatar' Found

Most of the images focus on the close-up shots of Na'Vi creatures, but two feature a better look at some of the humans and one captures an aerial shot of two war birds in the middle of a battle in Pandora.
Three of the overall six pictures center the attention on Zoe Saldana's Neytiri and the avatar of Sam Worthington's Jake Sully. 'Avatar' Sequel Could Explore Pandora Deeper

The most recent words have come out from the mouth of producer Jon Landau in an interview with French magazine Le Film, in which he hinted on the premise of "Avatar 2" should the follow-up receive the thumbs up from the studio.
While he didn't reveal much on what the possible sequel will be dealing with, the filmmaker did suggest that a sequel development will depend on the success of the December-released movie. "If the public likes Avatar, it's a possibility," he revealed as translated by Slash Film. "After all, here we are exploring the surface of the planet Pandora. The interior remains to be seen."

August 17, 2009 10:08:12August 21 has been declared by 20th Century Fox as an "Avatar" day, but the studio apparently will give out first taste of the sci-fi fantasy a day earlier. Promoting for the online debut of the movie's first trailer, Apple has put up a countdown clock which reveals that the sneak peek will be made available at 7 A.M. on Thursday, August 20.
Previously, it was announced that the first trailer for this James Cameron-directed feature film will be shown in theaters worldwide on the "Avatar" day. 'Avatar' Day: Details on Showtime and Tickets
August 13, 2009 02:08:59August 21 has been announced to be an "Avatar" day with fifteen minutes of the film being shown in theaters for free, but details on the free screenings have yet to be disclosed until now. Explaining more on the distribution of the free tickets, on Wednesday, August 12, was the studio's distribution topper, Bruce Snyder. June 24, 2009 10:06:15On Tuesday night, June 23, some exclusive scenes from the upcoming "Avatar" have been shown at the Cinema Expo in Amsterdam. According to director James Cameron as passed on by Hollywood Reporter, much of the 24-minute footage assemblage came from the first third of the film though it still featured also snippets from the unfinished portions of later battle scenes.
During the presentation, cast members Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Stephen Lang and Sigourney Weaver were said to introduce the scenes. September 09, 2008 12:09:23Hypening up the excitement for his latest feature film project "Avatar", director James Cameron talked about what he thinks of the sci-fi thriller movie by comparing it to his previous prominent work, "Titanic". During an interview in Los Angeles, he revealed as quoted by Andrea Baillie of The Canadian Press, "It makes Titanic look like a picnic."
Working on the film using the blending of live-action photography and new virtual photorealistic production techniques, Cameron further confessed, "It's simultaneously the most vexing and the most rewarding type of production that I've done yet." On the new filming techniques, he commented, "It's this form of pure creation where...if you want to move a tree or a mountain or the sky or change the time of day, you have complete control over the elements and the production design."

Confessing to the Hollywood Reporter that it is the most challenging movie he has ever made, the "Titanic" helmer stated that his goal with this project is to present a movie that is about CG animation and live action. During the filming in New Zealand, Cameron has taken the live-action part using the Fusion 3-D camera system. Now, he focuses on the CG part using a new performance capture production workflow.

Being so, the James Cameron-directed flick will now open on the same weekend as his "Titanic" did in 1997. Moreover, the shifted date consequently also gives the filmmaker more time to work on the effects and much more time for additional theaters to install 3-D screens both in the U.S. and aboard.

The Oscar-winning director happily confirmed that Wes Studi, Sigourney Weaver, Peter Mensah, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, and Laz Alonso have all been included in the lineup with Weaver playing a character named Grace. Already submitted to the list were Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana who portray Jake Sully and Neytiri, respectively.

Avatar looks like a really good and fun film to watch, it already looks good from the trailers, promos and stills... well i hope that the film is good. I will be watching it when it gets released. The film will also get a 3-D release. Good luck to the film.
