Her shot for the publication sees her covering her breasts with her right hand while strategically crossing her legs to hide her private part from the lens.
Serena is one of the six athletes picked out to be featured on six different covers of ESPN magazine. The five other chosen sport stars are martial artist Gina Carano, NASCAR driver Carl Edwards, triathlete Sarah Reinertsen, Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson, and Dwight Howard of the NBA's Orlando Magic.

Soccer stud David Beckham nabs the Choice Male Athlete prize, beating some other nominees, including Kobe Bryant, Roger Federer, Michael Phelps, and Tiger Woods.
On the female side, artistic gymnast Shawn Johnson is named the winner. She beats Nastia Liukin, Danica Patrick, Kerri Walsh, Misty May-Treanor, and Serena Williams, all of whom vie for the predicate of Choice Athlete: Female.

Then, Beyonce added another trophy with Video of the Year prize, thanks to her "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" music video. During her acceptance speech when collecting this award, she thanked Michael Jackson.

Competing for the same category with the 23-year-old swimmer are basketball player LeBron James who plays for the Cleveland Cavaliers and football quarterback Peyton Manning. Professional golfer Tiger Woods, who's been sidelined since undergoing knee surgery in June 2008, is also nominated for the same category.

An editor for Grand Central Publishing announced Tuesday, September 16 that they will, in fall 2009, publish Serena's memoir of her rise to tennis glory.
Karen Kosztolnyik, a senior editor who acquired the book for Grand Central Publishing after a bidding battle, said "Serena Williams is one of the world's most remarkable athletes. We've watched her rise to No. 1 despite physical and emotional setbacks, and her hard work and determination have inspired legions of fans young and old." Karen added, "Serena will give her memoir a strong motivational slant."

As credited in the end of the video, this clip was directed by Kerry Washington, who also made a cameo in it, and Sanji Senaka.

While the music and movie figures celebrated their winning at this year BET Awards, held Tuesday night June 26th, some of the athletes also cheered on their award winning.
Among the athletes honored during the award event was professional basketball player LeBron James who currently plays for the Cleveland Cavaliers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The so-called King James won the award for Best Male Athlete. As of the Best Female Athlete, the award was given to American former World No. 1 ranked female tennis player Serena Williams.

Hosted by comedienne Mo'Nique, BET organizers among any other categories named the special honorees and nominees vying for Best Male and Female Athlete awards.
Music diva Diana Ross is one of the honorees. She is slated to be handed BET Lifetime Achievement Award for her significant musical career. Meanwhile, actor Don Cheadle will be presented with this year's BET Humanitarian Award for his dedication to humanity.

Williams actually got many offers, but she finally decided to go with Flirt! which is produced by Estee Lauder and sold only at Kohl's.
"Flirt! fits my personality. It's young, colorful, funky, cool - it's a great fit for me," so said Williams uttering her reason on choosing that line. Among the products that will have Williams' stamp are lip-glosses that are attached to necklaces, which will be available in stores February.
