New 'Sherlock Holmes' Trailer Offers All Kind of Fights
November 05, 2009 09:11:40"Sherlock Holmes" won't play in theaters until Christmas Day, but Warner Bros. Pictures has offered more taste of its action and especially bromance through a brand new trailer. Debuted at MTV, this sneak peek mostly centers on Holmes and Watson as they work together while bickering all the way. At one point, Rachel McAdams' Irene Adler says, "They've been flirting this way for hours!"
The trailer also presents all kind of fights from gunfights to fistfights. Earlier, star Robert Downey Jr. has told MTV about how his legendary detective character practices his fighting skills. "He thinks through all eventualities, possibilities and counterattacks when he's fighting, so he actually has the fight worked out before he starts," so the actor claimed.
Tony Stark's New Invention Exposed in New 'Iron Man 2' Set Visit
October 14, 2009 01:10:34French channel CanalPlus has visited the set of the much awaited "Iron Man 2", and made available the set visit video for viewing pleasure. The nearly eight minutes video goes to inspect the workshop of Tony Stark aka Iron Man with director Jon Favreau being on hand to explain the upgrades the filming team has done to the room and what new invention Stark is working on.
Aside from providing the tour around the workshop, the video also presents the filmmaker talking about this "Iron Man" sequel, specifically on why making it is easier than bringing the first one to the big screen, and on adding Mickey Rourke and Scarlett Johansson. It also offers commentaries from star Robert Downey Jr. on the difficulty of making "Iron Man 2" for him among other things.

Focusing mainly on Mickey Rourke and his villainous character, Whiplash, the two minutes plus footage from the set of the highly anticipated "Iron Man" sequel features commentary from director Jon Favreau and fellow cast members, Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow and Don Cheadle.
"Once we thought of him, we started developing the costume and the design of the character around him," Favreau told ET's Thea Andrews on the casting of Rourke. "His career got very busy as he was doing all the award season stuff and it took some time to make everything work out, but he was enthusiastic from our first meeting. And, I was so glad that it worked out. Now he's a very formidable adversary to Robert Downey Jr."

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the helmer of "Iron Man" and its sequel, "Iron Man 2", has come on board the adaptation of the Platinum Studios Comics graphic novel, "Cowboys and Aliens", to which Downey Jr. is attached to star.
Downey Jr. has been attached to this big screen project since summer of 2008 when "Iron Man" scribes Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby were working on the script. It is not until "Lost" executive producer Damon Lindelof and "Star Trek" screenwriter Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci rewrote the script that Favreau circles the project.

According to Bloody-Disgusting, the Tony Stark aka Iron Man in "Iron Man" is in "close talks" to star as French nobleman-turned-vampire Lestat de Lioncourt in a big screen return for Anne Rice's popular fiction.
Should the rumor is true, Downey Jr. will be the third actor to take on Lestat, the narrator and main character of the majority of Rice's vampire tale series. The two one-sheets bring the attention to two of the action movie's major characters, Sherlock Holmes played by Robert Downey Jr. and his sidekick Dr. Watson portrayed by Jude Law.
Serving as a reminder that the movie is coming out on Christmas Day, both of the character posters carry different taglines. If the first one was from the "Iron Man" sequel's first official photo, this second picture came from its Los Angeles set and was brought into attention by People. The snap capturing Downey Jr. in parts of his Iron Man suit was taken on Wednesday, May 6, when the leading man was reportedly shooting a scene.
The gear Downey wears in the photo is said to be the new Iron Man suit. Of the new suit, Vic Holtreman of Screenrant wrote, "The gauntlets are much beefier on top of his hands, there are some gold highlights in the rib cage area and the chest piece looks redesigned as well. Most of the photos take their focus on the two main characters, Robert Downey Jr.'s Sherlock and Jude Law's Dr. Watson, while a couple of them tag along Rachel McAdams' Irene Adler and Mark Strong's villainous Lord Blackwood.
The freshly-released pictures tease on some of the actions to be seen as well as the drama to be expected. In one of the images, Sherlock is captured practicing his bartitsu skills in fighting two baddies who are blocking his way through the catacombs of London's St. Paul's Cathedral. 'The Soloist' Went to L.A. for Premiere

The special screening event took place Monday, April 20 at Paramount Theatre in Hollywood and was attended by many Hollywood stars as well as the two people whose story is being picked up in the movie, Nathaniel Ayers and Los Angeles Times columnist Steve Lopez.
Also seen walking down the red carpet on the occasion were most of the film's cast. 'Iron Man 2' Is Both Risky and Artistic

In a round table interview during the international press day for "The Soloist", the actor told Collider that everything from the first movie has been improved.

New 'Iron Man' on the Run for 'The Avengers'

In an interview with MovieHole, the director of "Iron Man", Jon Favreau, hinted that the 43-year-old actor maybe reprising his role as Tony Stark/Iron Man in the various superheroes movie.
According to the site, the director is pretty sure that Downey Jr. may return as the hero in the film based on the Marvel's comic book of the same title. "Downey Jr may be back as Iron Man - possibly even in a film that unites many of the Marvel superheroes. "The Avengers," based on the comic book title of the same name, sees several classic heroes coming together. It's been in early development for a few months now. Favreau believes it'll definitely happen," read the article.

Getting another Oscar-recognized talent following Jamie Foxx, DreamWorks Pictures has picked up Robert Downey Jr. to accompany the "Ray" actor as his co-lead in "The Soloist", Variety has informed.
Here Downey Jr., fresh from "Iron Man" filming, will assume the role of Steve Lopez, the L.A. Times columnist who discovered the abundant talent of Foxx's schizophrenic character Nathaniel Ayers as a violinist. The Lopez in real life has written a number of columns about the music prodigy as well as a book which is slated to hit stores next spring.

Keeping a balance between his comedic and dramatic roles, Robert Downey Jr. is coming onboard alongside Jay Baruchel to star in "Tropic Thunder", a comedic feature which marks Ben Stiller's return to feature directing field after his 2001 work of "Zoolander."
Slated to enter production July this year under DreamWorks SKG banner, the project revolves around five actors who find out that everything goes wrong during the making of a big-budget war movie and end up being the commandos they are portraying. "Fur," which will be based on Patricia Bosworth's "Diane Arbus: A Biography" tells about Arbus who was known for her photo images of eccentric personalities from the 1950s and '60s and committed suicide in 1971, and to be directed by Steven Shainberg, is set to begin next month and continue through July.
