Joker Spin-Off Being Considered
September 24, 2008 02:09:45Talking about his dream job to direct any "Batman" movies, helmer Brett Ratner suggested
that the first spin-off movie made from the bat-themed superhero series should be about Joker. To MTV News, the man behind "X-Men: The Last Stand" said that exploring Joker's origin as the Red Hood would be "really cool".
Emphasizing on how grand Joker is as a villain, the 39-year-old filmmaker suggested that there are other actors, who can interpret the psycho as great as Jack Nicholson in "Batman" and Heath Ledger in "The Dark Knight", putting Robert Downey Jr. name as one of them. Ratner explained. "...Joker is a great villain. That's why Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger had so much to work with. And I think there will be another actor who can interpret that. It would be great to see [Robert] Downey [Jr.] as the Joker, for instance."

Summer sure is still a great period to celebrate an award event and for young generation of moviegoers, it's undoubtedly the time to once again get to know who and what come out as the best at MTV Movie Awards this year, held Sunday, June 3 at Universal City's Gibson Amphitheatre.
Taking the spotlight during the ceremony was Walt Disney Pictures' "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" which not only got deemed Best Movie, but also won its lead star Johnny Depp the Best Performance honor. However, the big winner turned out to be Sacha Baron Cohen as the British actor triumphantly swept two golden popcorns in Best Comedic Performance for "Borat" and Best Kiss for "Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby", the latter being shared with fellow funnyman Will Ferrell.

The coveted Golden Popcorn trophies once again set to be handed into the rightful ones as MTV has just revealed its list of nominees for this year's MTV Movie Awards, which it will air live for the first time ever from Universal City's Gibson Amphitheatre on June 3.
Picking up titles of various genres for the competition, the network surprisingly gives large portion attention to epic saga "300", granting the Zack Snyder-directed flick a total five nods, notably Best Movie and Best Performance for lead star Gerard Butler.

Famous celebrities, including the likes of Robert De Niro, Penelope Cruz, Jack Nicholson, Robert Downey Jr. and Ben Affleck, are all teaming up for a new Vanity Fair vintage Hollywood movie-cum-magazine photo spread, shot by celebrity snapper Annie Liebowitz.
Besides them all, there is also Oscar nominee Forest Whitaker who plays beaten boxer Downey Jr.'s ringside agent in one shot. Edward Norton and Kate Winslet, in addition, also pose together in short film noir titled "Killers Kill, Dead Men Die". Following the announcement of its Orange Rising Star Award Finalist, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts has finally revealed yesterday, January 12 at 195 Piccadilly the full list of nominees for this year's BAFTA Awards, represented by the Academy Chairman Hilary Bevan Jones and actor Chiwetel Ejiofor.

The fans of the late Marlon Brando should cross their fingers that the postponed Brando's screenplay can finally start the production. The plan was actually set as the mark for the legend's return to the silver screen, but was then a totally delay due to the returning star's death back in July 2004.
After since, the planned "Brando and Brando" remained as a "closed-case" for the Tunisian director, Ridha Behi, who actually aimed in making the movie as his English-language debut.
Jack and Old Pals in Scorsese's New Film

The film will mainly tell about a war between Irish-American gangsters and corrupt police officers, in which Jack will play as an Irish gang boss caught between a cop (DiCaprio) deep investigation inside the organization and a Mob mole (Damon) who pervades the Boston police force. Perform along them in The Departed, is their co-star Mark Wahlberg. Well, goodluck for you guys new film.
